Anyone know if Spaghetti is OK to eat if made with spaghetti squash instead of pasta?

Any good recipes for it?

I love spaghetti squash and eat it pretty often.  I don't use spaghetti sauce though.

I saute some grape tomatoes, onion, peppers & garlic in olive oil pam spray and put it over the top.

The squash is easy to steam in the microwave.  Just cut it in half, scrape the seed, put it face down in a dish with a small lip, add a few tablespoons of water and microwave on high.  I usually start with 10 minuts and go up from there.  You want it fork tender so you can scrape it out.

My son likes the squash with spray butter and garlic powder.  Yech!

Mmmmm spaghetti squash.  Cut it in half, scrap the seeds, spray with olive oil pam, rub with a roasted garlic glove, or you can use fresh garlic or even some garlic powder, I just love the taste of roasted garlic, sprinkle with some salt and pepper and bake cut side down on a baking sheet that you have also sprayed with pam.  Bake in 350 degree oven until fork tender.  Baking time will vary depending on size of squash.  With a fork scrap out the squash so it comes out in strings.  Heat up some of your favorite spaghetti sauce and mix in.  I sometimes top with parmasan cheese or sometimes I put it back into a backing dish and cover with mozzarella cheese and put it under the broiler to melt the cheese.  I've also mixed it with ricotta cheese and sauce, covered with mozzarella and under the broiler to melt the cheese.

Hope that helps.  Enjoy.

I just replace any recipes I have with pasta in them, with spagetti squash.  Just make sure you let the spagetti squash "drain" long enough first so it doesn't make your recipe watery.

I love spaghetti squash.  I've made it all the ways mentioned and then some.  It is terrific cold in salads or as a side dish seasoned any way you want.  I make it the microwave way.  It goes a long way....much more inside the shell than meets the eye.

I am a squashaholic! Love the stuff... love to bake it, like potatoes... cut in half, face down in a baking dish with a bit of water in the bottom for steaming purposes....then (this is my downfall) add BUTTER and eat! LOL.... oh, and salt of course....

now you've got me cravin'!

Sorry bout the cravings lol

I will defiantly try it with "butter" I like to use the molly mcbutter stuff instead of normal butter, but that is one of my soft points, BUTTER! What about that I cant believe its not butter spray?
