My husband did a little fire investigation on the remains of the fire from my microwave.  There were 3 pouches of hot sauce in the bag, they were made of foil, so they sparked and caught the paper bag on fire which then cooked my microwave LITERALLY!  So all, guess bags are ok, jus****ch what is in there, this was an expensive lesson for me!

Hugs to all, Diane

Damn.  I guess that hot sauce was really hot!  You are really luck to have your own personal fire investigator.  Still I am glad you were spared a huge tragedy and that you were not hurt.

so, it wasn't the paper bag, diane? are we safe to put things in paper bags once again? or, is that still dangerous, too?

the foil pouches makes sense...

Doug is going to bring this subject up to the Prevention Officers meeting this month, so let's see what they say.  Of course I could always throw one in there and try it, the mircowave is burnt to death anyway, and stinks!  I will let you know personally!!

Diane glad you are okay, sorry about your microwave oven.

Another thing not to put in the microwave oven is the bamboo paper plate holders.
I know from experience that  they can catch on fire in the microwave oven.
One summer I was warming up burgers on a paper plate on holder &  then caught the dry bamboo plate holder start a small fire in my microwave.

When sellin a mircowave they should have a list of things that don't go in there.  Who would have thought packets of hot sauce?

I am just so happy that fire does not scare me.  I am very calm about it, I have been around it almost my entire married life, well all of my married life, and probably one of the very few individuals that ever got to grab a hose and go into a training burn with all the protective gear on.  It's really a rush, and I love those rushes.

Take care, and thanks for letting us know about that.
