When you are posting your current weight, are you using the weight from your surgeon's office or the weight from your home scale?  The reason I ask is that my home scale is 7 lbs. lighter than the surgeons.  I much prefer to use my scale at home.

Comments please??

There is about 4 lbs different between mine and my surgeon's.  I'm gonna be on my scales much more often than his, so I always use mine.

I use my scale at home. It is about 4lbs lighter. haha. As long as you always use the same one, it shouldn't matter.

Congratulations on you surgery!!

Im using my home scale.  I was 2 lbs heavier at the surgeon but oh well.   I won't be going there to weigh myself weekly so Im keeping my record from home.   Im also using the date I started my liquid diet 2 weeks before surgery as the starting weight.

Hugs.. you are doing awesome girl!  whoo hoo

I would go with your home scale. You will weigh on it more often. Plus, weights flucuate with fluids and clothing. At home you can weigh yourself all natural and get a more accurate reading. I always way the first thing in the morning same time everyday to get a more accurate reading. :)

I guess I should have thought about not being on the surgeons scale as much as I am going to be on my scale.  This makes a big difference considering I weight at 3:15 pm fully clothed, with shoes, and lots of liquid.

Now I have to update my profile and I guess I am going to use the weight from my first consult as a starting weight as this is when I began my new healthy life journey.  Wait until you see the update, it's kind of cool yet kind of scarry because this means I am loosing about 1 lb a day.

Thanks for your responses.

I weighed on mine and then on my surgeon's in the same clothes before I ate a single thing the morning of my appointment. Theoretically, my scale is two pounds heavier than the doctors. I don't believe the doctor's scales are as accurate as they could be. I go with my digital but adjust it in my mind, down two pounds..
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

I don't think it matters much as long as you use the same scale for all measurements including starting weight.

I use my home scale but it's within .5 a pound of my PCP's and surgeon's scale so it's not a big issue for me.
