Good morning Diane and the rest of Cali...
The dreaded Monday has arrived. Thank goodness for coffee on Monday morning cause I had another horrible night of sleep last night. I'm back to my pattern of going to sleep, sleeping for a couple of hours and then tossing and turning until I finally get out of bed, go watch some TV and then go back to bed. By then it's usually around 4AM and 6AM arrives very quickly after that. I go to the doctor this week so we'll probably be addressing that issue this time. I really don't want to take sleeping pills, but this lack of sleeping is really getting on my nerves.
Then I have iron infusion #3 on Friday and depending on my blood work I shouldn't need another one until November. By then we are hoping that my iron levels will be up enough to hold me for about a year. They have gone up a bit but I'm still nowhere in the normal range. Unfortunately I needed so much iron that my hemotologist was afraid to give it to me all at once, hence the need for repeated visits. It's annoying at best, but I have to say I do feel a difference in my energy level, ability to concentrate, leg cramping and ice chewing.
So when exactly is your surgery? I think I read that you are going to be at St. Bernardines. If yes, let me know when you are going to be there and if you think you'll feel up to visitors, I'll pop on over one evening after work. Give me whatever details you have, ok?
Alright, guess it's time to get busy here. I have much work to try to accomplish. Oh, how I wish I could still be home sleeping. You take it easy today Diane. It's almost time for all of this nonsense with you to be over. No more surgeries, no more pain. Just get on with living.
Have a great day everyone and be sure to do something nice for yourself.
Stephanie

Good Morning Diane and Cali Peeps,
Diane, we are all counting down with you. I know you will be so happy when this is all over.
Chris, what an awesome friend. You will have a blast in Alaska and cruising.
For Michelle, hope they are filling her with fluids and she starts getting to keeps things down.
Cali Peeps, have a blessed day, and make someone smile.
Hugs & Love,
Karen

Diane, i totally hear you. i am also a "bad stick", and i dread it... also, have watched too many TV shows about weird things that can go wrong under anesthesia, and so dread that, too!!
So... that being said, we do what we have to do, huh? And we pray (I'm praying for you) that the outcome is above and beyond all that we could ask or think!
I'm doing great out here in LB this morning... laundry...and continuing with the home remodeling... soon, probably by the end of next week! I will have a new full bath and walkin closet...just in time to go back to work... things will be organized and ready to go....sweet!
By the way... has anyone ever had to take a course of steroids post-RNY? I'm on a course of prednisone right now... so far so good on the pouch, but i'm wondering if anyone's had any experience with it?
thanks!
Lori

Oh please, I've had weight gain with everything this past year and a half. Only time I didn't was probably the four days I was in the hospital for surgery. But today is a new day and I'm trying to be a good girl. I just keep telling myself to back away from the carbs. So much easier said then done. But it's almost time for my protein bar snack and that should hold me until lunch. The candy dish on my desk that I keep for clients is just screaming at me right now. Maybe I need to not be so nice to my clients.
Anyway, I don't think you'll see a significant gain in the seven day regime though. It's over with so quickly, I didn't really see anything from it.
Feel good!!
Steph
