Thanks for the breakdown. I figured I would get the answers I needed eventually but I was sitting there before work and was totally overwhelmed by all of the vitamin stuff.

On another note how are you feeling??

I am actually feeling really good. I am keeping up with my walking, drinking, and as of today started my vitamins and protein drinks. I am a bit bushed at night, but its all good. I was just warned by a friend to be really cautious of bending and lifting due to the possibility of causing adhesions. Boy, am I careful now! Just keep that in mind when you are done with your surgery.

Glad to hear that you are doing well. I will keep in mind about the bending after surgery. Well talk to you soon :)

I'm 3 yrs out and still confused.  Many doc's and surgery centers recommend different.

According to my Options class thingy, I take:

1 Centrum pill daily
3 Calcium Citrate with Vit D - I take the three pills throughout the day and not at once
1 B12 weekly
1 Vit B1 daily
1 Vit A daily

Protein?  There's tons out there and I just use Muscle Milk Light after my workout daily.

Nathalie,

I use bariatirc advantage and love them!  My favorite is the Chocolate flavored Calcium Citrate, yummy!! I have also taken the centrum chewable with Iron. I found it at Walmart or Target. It only comes in one flavor which is orange.

You might want to contact Baratric Advantage and ask them for some samples.

Just remember that the vitamins must be chewable.

Good Luck!!

Children's gummy bear chewables ftw!  At least for now they work for me and they're fun to eat too!

Now, mind you, I'm also Pre-Op, but I've been doing some research here and there and have received advice from my mother who had RNY about 4 years ago and is a nurse.

Multivitamins - My NUT recommended that I take 3 Flinstones Vitamins, but I've gone ahead and ordered multivitamins from Bariatric Advantage off of my mother's recommendation

Calcium - I've been told it's Citrate, even though my NUT did recommend for me to take Viactiv Chewables which is Carbonate, so again, I ordered some from Bariatric Advantage.

Protein - Collagen is bad bad bad from what I understand, it does not give us what our bodies need after this surgery.  I've heard Whey and Soy are okay.

I would agree with what everyone has responded to as well :)
