I was wondering .  I am 3.5 wks post op and allowed to eat Tuna.  Would it be ok to add a little onion, relish and light mayo?

I did OK with tuna, very few onions, light mayo and relish around the 4th week out.  Just eat slowly and make sure your tummy is handling it the first time you try this.  Make sure the tuna is pretty moist.  This is a great source of protein.

Enjoy!

Hi Annette,

I know this will sound wierd, but I ate my tuna with a lot of green salsa sauce from Trader Joe's on it. I even added a bit of parmrsan cheese. I still like it that way, and in the beginning, it helped the tuna go down nice and smoothly. Good luck and hope to see you at the Long Beach coffeehouse at the end of the month.

Cool, thanks for your replies.  I think I will add onion powder and a little lite mayo.  The other option would be to eat a scrambled egg.  I was also told I could eat toast.  Maybe i'll make a slice of toast and eat only half with maybe a couple ounces of tuna.

Time to get my tennis shoes on to go for a walk, so I can come home and eat.  Thanks again for the replies.

I do plan on attending the LB Coffee.

I've added light mayo and relish from about that time and have been fine.

Good stuff!

Vlasic also makes a SF sweet relish...

not found everywhere, though... but worth the hunt!
