I am just starting my resear*****onsidering the lap band surgery.  I was just wondering what some of your experiences have been with your insurance.  I am currently under a HMO which covers nothing and am looking at PPOs.

I have Blue Cross PPO.  They don't pay for anything but a RNY.  Each plan is different though.   Good luck.

I'm on Blue Cross PPO and they have paid every penny of it for me. It really just depends on the insurance carrier, company where you are employed, etc.

I have Blue Shield HMO and they paid for my RNY 100% and I am loving life.

Welcome to the Cal board!! We are a good bunch here and you will find a ton of information. I wish I could help you as far as your insurance but I just don't know.
However, I will wish you the very best of luck and can tell you to ask questions, do your homework, and then decide what is right for you. And don't let anyone pressure you into one surgery over another.Only you and your surgeon can make those decisions.
