Question for the women

Jackie,

Another thing that helped me with gut wrenching cramps was drinking warm beverages and avoiding cold drinks.  My grandmother's mother was the "medicine woman" of her small village back in the old country and that was one of the ways she told women to control pain from cramps. When I started following her advice, I noticed a difference.

I hope you feel better soon. Cramps can be amazingly painful.

Thanks for all your suggestions...
I think I found a midol that is made with acetaminiphin.. (sp) and thats tylenol I think...  the teen kind doesn't have any caffeine in it.  that might work I think. :)  I'll call and confirm tomorrow.

Thanks again all.. big hugs!!

This line from the Always commercials makes me laugh: Have a happy period. Always. Yeah, riiiiiight!!!! LOL I had my hysterectomy because I was anemic due to fibroids and heavy bleeding. Thank goodness I no longer have to go through that!! =)

LOL  Yes I think that a hysterectomy would be an answer to cramps.. however, since I am hoping to one day have a child.. it isn't gonna be my answer yet ha ha   but... someday it will be :) and I won't miss my period.. cuz Kat.. It's never a happy one ha ha :)

hugs,

Yeah happy period my flat a$$!!!!! I would get cramps from my waist to my knees and it would feel like ....oh, let's not go there!! The night before my Hysterectomy I started my period and was so very happy to get that out of there...he did leave my ovaries but then they had to go 2 years later!
I wish I could recommend something that would help other than call you surgeon, but that is all I've got for you. I had cramps so bad I had to take narcotic pain meds 4 days a month just so I could still work.

A heating pad is a sure fire way to help the cramps along.  I usually use one at the beginning for a half a day and it takes care of the problem.

I sooooo wish I could get me one of those hysterectomies!  One of my best girlfriends told me that the day she had her hysterectomy was her most favorite day in all of her adult life!  LOL!!!  Funny how everyone can share the smae opinion on that!

Hugs to you!!

Well I just heard back from my surgeons office.   I can take Midol Complete or Midol Teen. They are both made with acetaminiphen which = tylenol.  complete has caffeine and Teen does not.  They said either was ok to take as long as long i read and confirm the ingredients.

So we are in luck :) There is something lol.

Thanks for all your suggestions!
