Gentlemen, we are going to relentlessly chase perfection, knowing full well we will not catch it, because nothing is perfect. But we are going to relentlessly chase it, because in the process we will catch excellence. I am not remotely interested in just being good.

Vince Lombardi

Good Morning Cali Friends, what are you thankful for today?

Today I am thankful for...

1.  Finally breaking my mostly self-imposed plateau! I started journaling again!

2,  Spending a great afternoon yesterday with my mother-in-law Isla and my step mom Lil.

3. Another beautiful morning today with yummy coffee!

OK your turn, what are you thankful for today?

Great Quote once again Ms. Barb.

Today I am thankful for....

1.  Diane having such a great 2nd surgery and looking good again (the woman without the butt)

2.  That I am going to clean out the garage today!

3.  That I finished getting all the school supplies and clothes bought

4.  Friends that share with other friends (thank you Heather)

That is what I can come up with right now   Today is going to be a great day!  I have a lot of work planned for today and I am going to get rid of a lot of junk today!  That is my goal.  We are going to burn up a bunch of trash, freecycle some stuff and give a bunch of stuff to Goodwill.  We have just too much stuff.  So that is the plan so I better get off my tush and get a moving.  Everyone have a blessed day.

Today I am thankful for having gained some control over my eating.  I don't think I'm 100% in control yet as it's taking a great deal of effort on my part to stay there, but then again, maybe it's not supposed to be easy.  Maybe it's supposed to be hard to make me understand that sometimes life is just not all that easy.

I'm thankful that my son got the promotion at work he'd been hoping for.  He's now officially a manager.  No more cable route work.  Now he gets to get the installers on the road each morning, get some paperwork done and then go out and QC the work that's been done and write up those guys who have not done their job.  He's thrilled for the change and the additional responsibility. And because it is very set hours, he doesn't have to worry about being late for school at night.

I'm thankful that my son's girlfriend got the  job she wanted at Kohl's yesterday.  No more driving 20 miles to and from work at all odd hours and then trying to get up inthe morning and go to school.  The new Kohl's store is less than a mile from where they live.  It opens in October, but she starts work on September 5th.

As usual I'm thankful for my job, that I have a job and one that I actually like. I guess it's the people I like more than the work.  I burned out on accounting years ago, but it's what I do so I keep on going.  Liking the people I spend 8 hours a day with makes it easier though.

I'm thankful that it is only 10 days until my "excellent adventure" with Lu.  I'd rather it be tomorrow, but at least it's not a month away anymore.

And of course I'm thankful for being loved by all the people who I would want to love me.  And that they allow me the honor of loving them back.

Today I am thankful:

for Barb's perfect timing as usual, with her quotes. I love this one two times over, Barb. First, just for the impact of the saying and second, cause it reminds me that football season is almost here! Lol...

that Diane looks great and seems to be doing good. I am so glad that I got to see her yesterday.

for friends that are willing to listen to me chatter on about really nothing at all. But, yet we can still hold deep conversations.

for friends that believe in the "pay it forward" theory. Thank you, I look forward to actually getting into some of those jeans! It gives me incentive!

for invitations from other friends who invite me along on their daily adventures. I had fun, as always.

and, I am thankful for friends that make me laugh even though they lick their finger and put it on me. Ewww! Lol!

Hugs, love, & friendship always,

Michelle T.

Great Quote... and as usual your timing is perfect!!!

I am thankful for my job and my wonderful colleagues.  We won two very high profile cases.  One, an extraordinarily important pro bono victory against the US Government in defense of social security recipients, a case that makes national headlines; secondly, a national headline-grabbing victory on behalf of all the major movie studios (who could have hired ANYBODY) against a product used to rip off DVDs and defended by some of the largest and most powerful firms in the country (I worked on the second of the two cases); and thirdly, a partner from our LA office is to be sworn in as Ambassador to Argentina today; but that's not all... fourth, a woman attorney in our office is acting as the first woman special master ever appointed by the United States Supreme Court, third a partner in our office is acting as Special Counsel to the President of the United States, and another partner here in SF is acting as Director of the MTA.  What number was I on?  Oh and if that weren't enough... We were voted #1 law firm in the country again, and we are on the top 50 firms in the country for working moms.

Working together, relentlessly chasing perfection and catching excellence in the process... its AMAZING and I am so thankful to be a part of all of this.

I am also thankful that yesterday I hit the -50lb mark!  Even more Amazingness!

Hugs all around!!!
