oh ya..uh huh...I am so exited..I finally have a date..September 2nd..I start my pre-op diet on the 19th..holy frick..thats in 6 days..I actually think im more scared of the pre-op diet than any other thing..well its a huge reflection time for me and I cant help but look back on life and just be so grateful for God's grace and I now have an oppertunity to start over on life and do it right..like all those times in life starting back in 3rd grade and constantly being teased or picked last or being left out on sleepovers or whatever it might be and thinking then like " is it always gonna be like this? Will I be rewarded later in life for all the pain and suffering i've been through? " and I am amazed in God. Like every birthday candle, shooting star, eyelash on cheek, wishberry, or any time when i've made a wi**** has always been to be skinny one day and somewhere in the back of my mind I always felt like " keep wishin sister " and He really was listening. I realized the other night during the meteor shower that I can now wish upon different things now..I can dream bigger..and best of all..it can happen!! To all of you out there who have lost hope in anything all I can say is keep dreaming..keep the hope alive and it WILL happen..wish me luck

Congrats on your surgery date!! I had surgery just 2 days ago with Dr. LaMar and so far so good :) Still trying to get used to everything.  The pre-op diet really helped me mentally get prepared.

Hi Danielle,

Yep, had the surgery on Tuesday and was home by early afternoon on Wednesday.  I had the surgery done at Arcadia Methodist.  I really loved that hospital ... It's pretty much my preferred hospital now going forward.  I used to go to Foothill Presbyterian in Glendora, but was so impressed with the staff, the technology, and just the level of care at Arcadia.

I am a little tired and sore, but I think that's pretty normal. I had a laproscopic hysterectomy in January and I felt worse from that than I do now, so I definitely think that's a plus.

I'm not sure if I had a g-tube or not, I might have had one when I was in surgery (my throat was a little sore) but I didn't have one when I woke up.

I think the hardest part for me now is getting all the protein and water in so I'm tracking it. Yesterday, I got in 52 oz of water and only 65 grams of protein and I need to hit at least 62 oz of water and between 80 and 90 grams of protein, so I'm gonna work extra hard to get that in today.

I have a lot of gas though, lol. I feel like I'm constantly tooting, ROFL! I know, probably TMI!!

Anyhoo, feel free to ask as many questions as you have :) I've learned a lot from this board, there is a lot of great info on here.

Good luck to you sweetie!

Congrats on your surgery date.  You must be sooooo excited.  I'm going to be honest with you, the liquid diet pre-op is so much harder than the liquid diet post-op.  But don't worry, you will be fine.  The less you think about it the better.  Just try to stay away from food in hands reach whenever possible during your liquid diet.  Also, I regret not having all my favorite foods before surgery.  So have your last food good-byes before you have to start your liquid diet.  I went to Olive Garden for my last dinner before the liquid stage but I wish I had gone to Red Lobster as well.  I won't be missing Red Lobster for long as I can now tolerate seafood, just in small amounts.  Good luck and I wish you the best.

Thankyou..I am so exited!! I know the pre-op diet will be the hardest part cause its gonna be all on me to keep my eating under control..no tool yet to help me..but im looking ahead to all the great things coming my way and hopefully that will keep my mind on the important things...I have been eating pretty bad lately..trying to get it out of system..it makes me sick that im so addicted to food..I understand drug addicts cause im pretty sure thats how they feel..like you have no power over something..thats what im most exited about..to be free from this and get my power back..well thankyou again for your well wishes..danielle

Congratulations on your up coming surgery. Your post put tears in my eyes. I can definitely relate to you. I was also there….I prayed everyday to GOD that one day I would be free from all the hurt and pain of feeling like a failure with every diet I tried and failed.   I also had Dr. Lamar…wonderful doctor. He truly gave me back my life and as you I now can dream and wish for different things in my life. I had my surgery just over 16 months ago and I am down 130 pounds and the only regret I have is I didn’t do it sooner!!!   But, now you don’t have to look back any longer, just look forward and tomorrow will be a new day and a new you!!!   Remember, every doctor is different, so just follow your doctor’s instructions and you will be successful.   If you need anything…just send me a PM…and if you would like to talk…send me a pm and I’ll give you my number…   Good luck!!!!   Michele
