I had surgery on May 23rd 2009- lost over 100 pounds.  I am happy about the weight loss- but I have other personal issues like depression that seemed to have recently gotten worse.  I take 40 mg of Prozac and have a psychologist but would be interested in findin gone who specializes or has more experience with bariatric surgery patients.

Thanks,

Brett

Hi Brett,

My sister, who is a WLS alumni, is a psychologist in Pasadena.  I don't know what if any insurance she takes, but if you PM your email I will give you more information if you are interested.

Hey Brett,

I do know of one that has had WLS herself. I will email you her info, since you posted your email add.

By the way, CONGRATULATIONS on the success!

Dr. Summer Perry and Dr. Diane Lamont(?) both do the psych evals for Dr. Quilici. You might see if either of them are taking new patients or if not, can recommend someone with bariatrics experience.

Best of luck!

Brett:

First, congrats on the success!!  That is wonderful!!  It is also very good to hear that you aware of the depression and wanting to seek help.  Dr. Scott Bolivar would be my recommendation.  I know he lives "down south" somewhere, but do not know where.  I am sure someone will be along to post to you where he is.  He and his wife have both had WLS and he is a great resource of information and so willing to help.  Even if he is too far away to feasibly see you, I am sure he can recommend someone for you to see.

Good luck.

Jillie
