What I do know and I know from my own experience is.....eating healthy alone or exercise alone will not make me lose weight and keep it off in the long run. If I exercise regularly and eat healthy I am able to lose the weight and maintain it. I lost over 200lbs doing this and I have been able to maintain the weight loss for 8 1/2 years.

It is all about a Lifestyle change, not a temporary diet. We have to learn what works for us and do it!

Take care,
Ginger

If you would like to visit my blog to read the from MSN Health & Fitness "Is Exercise a Waste of Time? Addressing the same topic and also talking about the Times article on  "Why Exercise Won't Make You Thin".  I think it has a lot of really good information.

What I don't like about these headlines is the promotion of exercise only being good for weight loss.  I had a difficult time accepting exercise into my life when I only connected it with weight loss. It felt like a punishment.  I am overweight so therefore I must exercise because I am fat and horrible.  That is how I used to think.  Once I stopped expecting exercise to make me thin and told myself that even if I don't lose another pound, exercise would still be beneficial in so many other ways.  Studies have shown that thin people who never exercise versus overweight people who do are many times not as healthy as the overweight people.  Of course this depends on where you are on the overweight scale, but the point is exercise is about wellness in general.

I agree.  And when I workout I workout more than my body...I workout my head!  I think, meditate, pray and with all those endorphins being release....I feel awesome after!

I have read articles about exercise kind of being the fountain of youth!  Makes us younger...not just our body but our mind!!!  I think that is a good thing!!!

I personally love to exercise, especially walk...I can walk outside for hours...and just love it!!!  Seeing what God has provided for us to enjoy in this world just thrills me!!!! And to be able to walk more than 15 minutes without sweating and feeling like I was going to die!

Have a great day!
