good thursday morning
Hey Good Morning Cali Friends,
WOW ! I am so happy it's THURSDAY!! Wooohooo!! This week has flown by. I started Fall semester this week and I have been super busy. I am taking 2 classes this term. One class is the dreadful math and the other is a counseling class. Atleast, the math class is a Mon/Wed from 6-7:40, so that means I am home by 8pm. NICE! The other class is on Thurs from 5:30 til 8:20pm, "yuck", but that class is only 3 weeks. Wooohooo! I can tough that one out! So basically, it is a pretty laid back schedule this term.
I also wanted to share something with everyone, I am trying to stay positive about life, so the other day I was having a really crappy day. I mean this was a "I just wanna crawl under a rock and sleep" day. Then as I was driving home from class, I turned a corner and saw a man sitting at the bus stop. I looked at him and it made me want to cry. He was about twenty something years old and he was sitting in a wheel chair, but really got my attention was that he was a quad amputee. Looking at him, made me realize, how very lucky I am to have the life I have! So, my point of this story is, no matter how bad things look about your life, just stop and really take a look at someone else's and then you'll realize "Life isn't so bad!"
A great friend told me once, that if we all threw our problems into one giant pot and looked at each others, then we would stop complaining and pick ours up again! I think, it is so true! God doesn't give you what he thinks you can't handle!
Ok, so my words of wisdom are over for now, have a great one!

It sure is good C'ING LESS OF ME!
We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp, some are pretty,
some are dull, some have weird names,
& all are different colors....but they
ALL exist very nicely in the same box.

Julie,
You are right about the parking and it's worse then ever. With all the students who want to get into Cal State and can't because they aren't accepting applications until 2010, they are staying at Fullerton. Jonathan's girlfriend among them. She got her AA over the summer but was told her application would not be accepted at Cal State until at least January and maybe not even until next fall so she stayed on at Fullerton taking some additional classes. Jonathan was telling me that there are 36 people in his class, 15 were on a wait list and about 20 showed up to try to petition entry into the class. And it's calculas...ugh. He gets off work around 4PM and doesn't even go home. He goes straight to school so he can find a place to park and then goes and gets something to eat until class time and he does this 4 nights a week. Poor kid gets up about 4:30 in the morning to go to work and then goes straight to school with no break. Gee, to be 25 again. LOL Hopefully when he attempts to transfer to Cal Poly Pomona next year he won't have as much difficulty.
If he'd only listened to me and not goofed off his first few years of college he'd be done by now. But what do I know. I'm just his mom. Help me, I can't believe I'm sounding like my mother now. LOL

Lori,
It's funny that you say that, I was thinking the same thing, too. God works in mysterious ways and having that young man in my path, when I was feeling down, really made me wake up & stop feeling sorry for myself. My sister is really good at always looking for the brighter things in life. I am usually the glass in half empty kind of person. Lately, I have been seriously trying to think positive.

My days consist of taking my 83 year old neighbor lady, Gladys, to the nursing home to spend the day with her hubby who broke a hip... (she takes a taxi home)...
Then, sitting around with my dogs, whilst construction continues on my bathroom and closet (i think this is week 7 of a three week job, LOL)....
I go back to work this upcoming Monday! Teacher's meetings monday....classroom work time on Tuesday, kiddos come back on Wednesday.... and....we're off and running!
The drywall is in, but not yet taped or mudded. The plumbing is almost finished. Floor is in. Lights are in. After the drywall is finished and the room is painted (maybe saturday), we're down to putting the pieces all together!
Very exciting!
my doggies will be happy to get the run of the house again...me too, actually!!
Two former students from '07 are coming over for lunch today... they don't know it, but i'm going to have them help me cook.... we're going to make chickpea burgers! I bought a 20 dollar mini food processor (black and decker) at Target... 20 bucks! we'll see how it works today!
Have a great day all.. God bless you... so many needs....Stacie's illness... Diane's healing...family members with cancer... people needing jobs... May the Lord hear these prayers and needs...
xoxo
