My biggest WOW moment ever!
On August 9, I took my certification exams to become a Certified Personal Trainer. This has been my goal for the last 3 years, and yesterday I got the official results. I PASSED!!!! Not only did I pass, but I passed with amazing scores on both the written, and the practical exams. Now, I have to secure a 20 hour intership and get CPR certification, and I can finally start seeing clients.
I have been brainstorming on how to go about this business. I am considering writing to many different companies such as BariatricTV.com, Isopure, Dannon, Pure Protien, etc. and asking them to sponsor me to start my business by donating equipment or advertising, or even products to provide to clients. I decided on a name........Belly's Fitness. It is my hope that I can provide thorough fitness training without the indimidation and fear that I had myself when I was starting out on my WLS journey, by calling it something that we can all relate to. I intend to hold "Belly 's Bootcamp", with weight classifications and workouts that are weight appropriate according to class. When was the last time you heard of a bootcamp geared for those who are 400, 300, or even 200 lbs? I am really excited about this. I am hoping to get some corporate sponsorships. If any of you have any creative ideas, PLEASE, by all means, let me know.
I am so proud of myself. I have set many goals in this journey, and this was the biggest one I set so far.............and I have met each and every one. Now, it's time to sit down and set some more goals........and ask mylelf "what are YOU capable of now?"
This is so exciting!

Kat,
so glad you shared with me that you love the name. I was not sure how it would translate to people.
I was brainstorming yesterday and had the idea of "Belly's Dance" classes too.......
Many different types of dance that also serve as cardio exercise. The great thing about that is, I know when I was overweight I would NEVER go to a dance class at the gym because I knew I would not be comfortable trying to dance in a room full of size 6 women. This could be an awesome outlet for larger women (and men who are interested) to come and learn to move thier body while getting exercise and losing weight, while in a room of women who are the same size, or were at one time. It will be geared toward fitness, obviously, but also toward bettering self esteem and social interaction. I am VERY excited about this new idea I had yesterday. This feels like a good plan>
