Old timer finally gets surgery 9/9/9

Hopefully a few of my old friends on this board remember me. I am finally just over a couple of weeks away from surgery. What a slow road to good health I have had. So slow that my health has deteriorated. I won my CA state appeal against Kaiser and will be having the DS performed by Dr Rabkin at St. Mary's in SF. I have to get my baby  girl off to college back east next week and then the real nail biting starts. But really I am mostly excited to get on with my life.

Yippee Skippee!!!!!!  I am glad you decided to post it over here, Gail.  I know that Stephanie and Luana are so happy for you.  But right now they are on their way to Vegas, well they are prolly actually there by now, but I will tell you congrats by proxy from them.

You have remained so steadfast in your process.  There were many times that I was thinking you would have to end up self paying and how unfair it was that you seemed to get EVERYTHING thrown at you at every curve.

Wow!!!!!  I don't know what I would be feeling if I were you.  Probably a "Pinch me, it's not real" feeling.  I am just so verry happy for you.  The date too 9-9-9.  Must mean something although I am not into numerology, just the fact that is is so "niney" makes it unusual. 

Anyways, congrats again and thanks for posting on this board and letting the others know.

Gail used to be a poster on here quite often.  She had a lot to contribute.  Aside from her contributions, she was just a really great person to have around.  She stopped posting on the CA board a while back because she started catching crap and someone or multiples made her very uncomfortable.

I CANNOT IMAGINE ANYTHING THAT GAIL COULD DO OR SAY THAT WOULD WARRANT HER CATCHING CRAP, SHE IS SO NOT A CONTROVERSIAL PERSON, SOOOOOOOOOOO  WHOEVER IT WAS, WHETHER ONE PERSON OR MORE (I HAVE NO IDEA WHO OR WHAT THEY SAID - SHE HAS MORE CLASS THAN TO BECOME A "TATTLETALE"), I SAY TO YOU AT THIS TIME, "STFU!  IF YOU CAN'T SAY ANYTHING NICE, JUST SHUT UP!!!"  I, FOR ONE, WANT HER BACK, AND I AM SURE OTHERS WILL TOO.  THANKS

      

Get 'em Jillie!! NO one has the right to be rude to anyone on this board, for any reason. We are here to support, not tear down. I for one would LOVE to see Gail post more on the Cali board.

   It is so nice to be greeted and better yet defended by an old friend. I can't even find that old controversial exchange on this board so maybe it was removed This (apparently very popular) woman and many others didn't like DSers to post here. She seemed to feel that this was an RNY forum, not a CA support forum. I simply asked for less of the smart alec, nasty remarks that tend to drive people that need help away.  I have been spending mot of my time on the DS forum because I need to learn how to use my new tool and how to treat it right. I will still look for my old friends here and post my milestones.
   Yeah, I was pleased with 999. I am certain for me it will be lucky. After so many years of trying to get this surgery, I have been able to build up a lot of rational and irrational fears. I am pretty jumpy and emotional about this entire thing. All I want is better health and to stick around a lot longer and be a better person for my friends and family. Besides, I haven't yet painted my masterpiece.
