Bambi's MAMA

Now I know some of you "eat your pets" and others are horrified by the thought. Personally, I don't ...not that I wouldn't ... but  I have no need nor a desire too.
Anyway, right now Bambi and Bam-Bam and Mama are out in my front yard eating the apples that have fallen off the tree. Hmmm, apple venison is mighty tasty... Naw, She has 2 little ones to care for and we only do the bucks if we do it at all.
But I do have my order in for a pig through the FFA...Hmmm, pork chop. LOL

Ok enough of that clowning around.

My husband doesn't shoot bambi or his mother, he will eat them though.  He does enjoy shooting Daffey and Donald Duck and Mother Goose.  For me if it does not come from the grocery store it does not go in my mouth!

Elizabeth...you'd get hungry around here!! We grow our own eggs( or our hens do) I grown food year round in my garden and it is getting bigger every year and I freeze and do a lot of canning!! No I don't hunt because I don't have the need, if I did I would. Part of the food chain my dear, just part of the food chain. But if you saw what went on behind the scenes you wouldn't eat anything from a grocrey store!! It is ...well, never mind... we really don't want to go there now do we.LOL

I just won't eat what he kills.  I just don't like that gamey taste.  I just can't bring myself to do it.  I love home grown vegetables and stuff.  They are so much better than the grocery store.  I hate fish.  I know I need to learn to eat it because it is good for you.  It is a block from my childhood.  I hear your taste changes after surgery, maybe I can eat fish.  My mom used to fry it (were from GA) and it was a big deal whenever they made it. No one would eat it but my parents.  She would fry it in it's skin.  YUCK!

Fried in the skin? Was it catfish?
I love most fish, but I can't eat trout...just because of a very bad experience when I was a teen.
And there is some game I don't care for, I do like most I have tried though.
As far as tastes changing, mine really have!!!I never used to like dill,lime, lemon,now I crave then.
It is werid.

I don't remember what kind it was.  My dad is a retired Southeren Baptist Preacher. When someone in the church would give them fish we would have to eat it.  I remember when I was about 5 I fed mine to the dog and my dad knew I was lying when I said I ate it.  He told me I was making Jesus cry for lying.  Pretty lame hunh!  The last time I was forced to eat fish I broke out in a rash.  I know it was psycological.  You would think that since I am now 51 years old I could get over it!

Bebaugh, yeah know if you don't like it ...you don't like it and just because it is "good for you" doesn't mean you have to eat. And at 51 years you are old enough to know if you like or dislike something...Ya made Jesus cry when you were 5!!!???LOL!!! that gave me a laugh for sure.Geeez, the guilt trip...don't ya just love them!??

I know I don't.  I just get tired of everyone telling me I need to  eat fish.  I know with this surgery I will have to change the steak and potato thing.  I do like chicken, pork, and things.  I just need to broaden my horizons so I don't get bored eating the same thing all the time.  I have bought 2 cookbooks with recipes for WLS patients.  I am not the best cook in the world but I am going to learn to be a great one! I am willing to do it now! Making Jesus cry, that is something I never tried to put on my kids!  I really have to limit my time with my parents for my sanity!
