Right now I am a Players Club Rep at a local casino. I give out the new cards and monthly redemption's and much more. I LOVE my job, but not really my shift, 4 - midnight.  There are things about working at a casino that kind of suck, but it is a great job with benefits and we are always KRAZEE  busy!!!!!

I really want to be a Bariatric Life Support Coach and Support Group Leader, maybe I will pursue that soon.  And my ultimate dream job would be to be a Karaoke DJ, lol!!!!

thanks for the fun sweetie!!!!  bigg huggs, Becky

Well, well, well, right now I am a statistic.  Yes, that's me, an unemployed Californian.

My longest career, and one I wish I could return to, is with the Dept of Social Services.  I was a welfare worker for just under 18 years.  I love, love, loved it!!  I got involved in politics there and made the wrong people mad at me and ended up getting fired on trumped up stuff.  Fought through the union and got my job back but there was no way I could work there again, because they would have just been on my back and been horrible to me until I quit.  That is how they work.

Anyhow, since then I have just taken secretarial type jobs.  I do a good job at them because I usually start at a low salary but get good raises and end up making really good money for the area I live in ($13.00 an hour for an Executive Secretary is GOOD MONEY here!  Isn't that a joke?!!)  For the last year, I returned to school to become a paralegal.  That plan is over because the community college I was going to dropped all the "specialty" classes due to budget cuts.

So I am looking for work again.  I am thinking that I just want to work at customer service, like Starbucks or CVS Pharmacy or something like that.  We'll see what happens.

That is my story and I am sticking to it!!!!!

Hi everyone,

I am a nurse and have been for 14 years. I have worked in Texas, that is where I got my first job. After 6 years I decided to become a travel nurse and have worked in Maine, Maryland, Mass, and have done a few travel assignments in Texas. I came to California in 03 as a travel nurse. I have been here since, except for a brief spell back east a few years ago. Decided I wanted to be back in Cali so here I am. I work in the Intensive Care Unit, and the hospital I work for is the trauma center for the county, so work can be very interesting at times. Although the job can be extremely hard some days, I couldn't imagine doing anything else at this point in my life.

The least appreciated but most rewarding job any person (especially a woman) could ever have.
Without struggle, there is no progress.

I work for the county of Los Angeles; so I don't really do anything; but I still get paid for it.

just kidding.

I work for Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, in the Facilities Management section.  I oversee all land line communications, new and old.  I lay out phone systems for our new Full Service Partnership, and Specialized Foster Care Programs; as well as maintain what we already have.  All new orders, and repairs go through me, so sometimes it can be a little stressful.  Afterall, we do have 3700 employees, and there's no telling when an entire locations phone system can crash; and all hell breaks loose...............maybe that's why I lost all my hair?

I work for the operations department of a bank.  I've worked in the bank area for 3 years and for the payment processing center for 8 years.  I was a department manager for 4 years until my health forced me to step down.  Right now I  return checks for overdrawn accounts and process rejected transactions for deposits and withdrawals.  There is always something different to do.  I love my job but more and more of it is being outsourced to India and China.  I may be retiring sooner than I would like.

This is a cool post Diane

I am getting ready to begin my lucky 13th year as an education specialist (special ed teacher).  I started as an aid went on the teacher, master teacher and assistant administrator (vice principal to those of us old school).  The classroom is where I am meant to be so 2 years ago I left non-public school (kids with behavior issues you know the ones who throw chair and hit the teachers) to public school where I mostly have those with learning disabilities.  Teaching is my bliss and there is nothing else in this world that could take me away from my daughter.
