Xpost: Please Help me with CA PS who takes INS

I have Anthem Blue Sheild PPO.  They covered my DS!  I called them and found out they will cover panniculectomy if it's documented rashes, pain, hygene issue......done.  I got a list of preferred providers from BS.  Here in lies the problem.  Not one will do panniculectomy - they insist I want TT, but I know my abdominal muscles are strong...I just want my apron gone!  Do they just say this because they don't want to take my insurance & since TT isn't covered, that's how they can get around it? 

Does any one know of PS in CA who will do panniculectomy for patients with insurance?  Otherwise, Mexico, here I come.........

Just last night I started looking myself, I have the same insurance. I will be interested to see what people have to say.
i have looked a few of the more reputable PS drs on ehre, Lee adn Katzen. I have yet to get arould to calling either yet. Both are on the BCBS site as well.

Thank you for your responses.  I'm trying to contact every PS on my INS supplied list......It's so difficult to find someone willing to listen to me.  I'll let you now how the research goes!

Just my two cents....but most people I know who just had the panni removal are not thrilled with their results.  I believe most surgeons insist on the tummy tuck  because they understand the results will be much better. 
In talking to many surgeons in Mexico, most also do not want to just do a panni removal.   

This might not be true in all cases, but pretty much what I've experienced.

Dr. Spenler does a lot of wls patients ... his wife is a bariatric surgeon at Torrance Memorial.

I DID need my stomach muscles worked on and they got it all covered by ins.
