Great Monday Morning!
So what is everyone up to today? I got lots of meetings this morning and I will be running around like a chicken with my head cut off in about an hour, but for now I am here.
I have decided to do the 1/2 Long Beach Marathon with Jean. We have a pact that if she or I get too tired we are going to call a cab. I don't think it is going to happen as we are going to talk the enitre time so I have a feeling we will have more talking to do than walking and we won't even notice, Now God forbid we pass a Mac counter, if that happens we are a gonner!
Well I guess I better get going and get some more coffee.
Goodmorning all and once again I thank everyone who came this weekend to Welcome our very own Barb. WE love you Barb and we love Ron. Me Casa es su Casa, you are always welcome, you have been officially adopted by all my kids and my dog and ME!
Hugs and kisses to all,
Rhonda

I am up and ready to head to the airport. I will not be taking a computer (for once in my life) so I will be out of pocket until next Monday. This is the first time some of my coworkers will see me since surgery. I cannot wait to hear what they have to say. Had a great weekend with DH and Ms V. I am sure she will be upset when mommy goes to work on the airplane, oh well life goes on.

DH has his interview on Wednesday so please remember to sing those chicken, cross those toes and say a little extra prayer for him. I know I will be doing this from Orlando.
Everyone have a great week.

Dolores,
You know I'll be praying for Rick. Tell him to walk in there like he has the job, the confidence is key. Also, please tell him to have LOTS of Pars and Stars ready! P.A.R. stands for Problem. Action, Result (they are sometimes also referred to as S.A.R or Situation, Action Result and S.T.A.R. or Situation. Tactic, Action, Result statements. That will set him apart from the rest of the candidates. Last but not least dress for success! Suit!
Hugs and tell him to send me an e-mail on LinkedIn and tell me how he did!
Hugs,
Barb
You are all welcome ANYTIME!!! Mike can come whenever he likes! Here is the link to our concert dates and some pics too http://www.dvcbands.com/dvcbands/Current_Performance_Schedul es.html
yep you'll see me in there somewhere but I was much heavier in the pics. Tell Gerry I will put him on stage behind the sound wall which is right behind the percussion section and he can feel the beat all concert!
I will post pics from the weekend tonight I promise.
Well I am three minutes late for the shower! I guess I better get this body going to work.
Thanks again for a most fabulous weekend and can't wait to see everyone again. Nor Cal folks we're getting together a week from Sat. and I can't wait to see everyone. Whoo hoo!!!
Have a great day.
Hugs,
Barb
We have been up since 4:30. It was a great weekend. Got together yesterday with a girl that went through the UCLA surgery classes with me. She is doing awesome, started at over 500lbs and is now in the 230's. I'm in awe of her. We have motivated each other over the years and will continue to do so.
Today its back to work and to the beginning of actual lessons and course work. I love teaching so I will be having fun. Just hope I can make it so for the kids.
Everyone enjoy the day

Today is busy, busy, busy for me as well. I'm at work (got here at 7:00) and wishing I could have that caffiene!!! Oh well, it's better for me if I don't have it!! Tonight I have a *walk* meeting! I am on the Board of Directors for American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and each year we have 5k walks all over the country. Well, Southern Cali alone I think we have 9 this year. Busy, busy! So, I am doing 3 (yes 3) 5k walks this year! Yay!
I am really starting to now see the difference in my body. It took me losing 35 lbs to begin to see it for myself. I'm now down 36.5 lbs and can't believe it. Hard to believe I've lost well over 230 lbs ... I have to look at my pictures again and again to really take it all in.
On Friday I had a major meltdown about something that had happened and I admitted for the very first time in ALL my life that all I wanted to do was EAT my meltdown! I told my partner... "right now, I want to shove food in my face... that is all I want to do!" I went to the couch... sat down... and was instantly ok and didn't want to eat. All it took was for me to admit it????????????? Why couldn't I do that before?? Weird how things work. :o)
Anyway, I think this is the longest post I've ever done... I'll stop for now.
Hope ya'll are having a super day!
Lisa
Today is work, and tomorrow is work and Wednesday is work....boy, it just never seems to end. I will be soooo happy when I get enough vacation once again accrued so I can take some long weekends off.
Lon and I spent the weekend up at the 1000 trails park...we had a freak rain storm...lasted all of about 30 minutes LOL But really strange for this early in the fall...we usually have Indian summers up here. Took some neat pictures from our 5th wheel window..turkeys, jack rabbits and 4 does, 1 2yr old buck and a new fawn...all right outside our door. The wild life is one of the reasons I love spending time on our camp site. With school started, the campground is practically deserted...so quiet and peaceful. We'll be going up again Friday.
Had a good laugh Saturday morning when I called Barb's cell...what a bunch of noise!! I could hardly understand what was being said by the person on the phone (I got to talk to Diane, Naomi, Rhonda, Becky and of course Barb!)...gees I wish I could have been there!!!!! And then to see the Welcome Sign Naomi posted...man...just about brought tears to my eyes :-(
Spring Break, Rhonda!! I don't care WHAT is going on at work..they will just have to do without ME!! (so? when is spring break?? LOL I don't have any kids at home anymore...one week is the same as the next ;-)
time to go back to work...hugs to all...and Thank You for sending Barb and Ron back home safely!!

I am home from the great Northeast. My vacation was wonderful. The weather was great except for the last two days when it rained. But even that was nice. Mike and I went to the seafood festival in Hampton Beach, NH on Saturday in the rain. It was cold and wet and we still managed to have an awesome time. It was great seeing his family and my cousin who came up from NY. We met at an antique fair in Brimfield, MA. It was raining then too, so we didn't see too many of the antiques, but had the best time sitting in a tent with some coffee and catching up. Got a chance to go up to Portsmouth, NH for a day of siteseeing. Portsmouth is an old New England town full of rich history and the best little boutique stores. We wandered into a resale/consignment shop and I wound up with a beautiful Dooney Bourke purse. I've always wanted one and this one was almost brand new. It was definately a score.
We stayed out at Mike beach house on Plum Island, MA and each time I stay at that house I get to love it more and more. Too bad in a couple of months the ice flows will back up to the deck, the snow will be all over and if we were there, we'd be freezing our butts off. Now if we could just move that house to say Malibu, we'd be happy. LOL
OK, time to get busy here at work. It's good to be home and I'll have to take some time to catch up on what everyone has been up to all week. In the meantime, everyone have a great day and remember, do something wonderful for yourself today. For me, I plan on going home at 5PM, having some dinner and going to sleep. Vacations are exhausting.

Things are good here. Nurse comes in and I get my bandage changed and then they go home. That is the highlite of my day,
The weekend was great fun and I really enjoyed it. Thank you Miss Rhonda for opening up your doors to all. It was so much fun and it is always wonderful to meet new people and catch up with the old. Say Hi to the family for me.
That's it for me.
Diane
Good Morning Pretty Lady and all of California too!
I think you and Jean will have a blast, if you need any advice or have questions please ask....I'll do my best to help you out. There are no MAC counters on the race route so I'm sure you'll be ok.
I have my one last drain and its a stubborn little thing!! It's still draining too much fluid for it to be removed so I anticipate it will be another day or so before it comes out. My surgeon suggested SLOWING DOWN and RESTING so that I'll heal. Its hard!
I'm excited for all the buzz about the LB Marathon....its my favorite city and my favorite activity ll in one day. Please consider signing up!!! The 5k walk/run is a great course that goes down Shoreline Drive.
I have a long day of rest ahead of me...take care!
