Now that I am at a healthy weight I am told I am too skinny. I can win. I was fine with my weigth 20lbs before goal. What would any of you sugest I say to the people that (includes my husband) that tell me Im to skinny, a tooth pick, Olive oil on poppey etc. ? Any sugestions? Thanks Cathy J.
Hi Cathy,
First of all CONGRATS !!! on reaching and surpassing your goal. You should be very proud of what you have acomplished. As far as what to tell others, well if you are like me, I have been overweight all my life. I have lost 150 plus pounds in the past 7 months and I have ran into people that dont even recognize me. These are people that I have known and dealt with for many years that havent seen me since my surgery.
Point is, you have to realize that they have become accustomed to seeing us as large people and will have to adjust as we do to the fact that we are now going to be skinny.
Just tell them this is the new me.........Forever
Have a great day............Rick

Hi Cathy,
First you must look at what your weight is and if it was a realistic goal for you to have achieved. How tall are you and what is your weight? Is this the goal the doctor set for you or is this the number you had in your head for where you wanted to be? You might actually be too thin. It's important to be healthy, not just thin. The number on the scale is not what is important. It's how your body reacts to the weight that counts.
However, if you are at a good and more importantly a healthy weight, then you really don't owe anyone any explanations. But if you feel inclined to give one, you can simply say to them, "You think I am too thin, because you have only known me as too fat. Anything smaller than what I was is not what you are familiar with. Once you get to know me for a while at this weight, it will become easier for you to accept". Just reassure them that you are at a healthy weight for your height and all your vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, blood analysis) show that you are healthy and are at the weight the doctor suggested you be at for optimum health.
Congratulations on achieving your goal. Now comes the tough part; maintaining it.

Hi Cathy,
Well I for one am so excited for you! I can't wait to say that I hit goal weight or under. You must feel so good about yourself. It doesn't matter what other people say as long as you feel good! I agree with Karen, say.. Thank you! :) The day someone calls me a toothpick I'll freakin scream it on the boards :)
You are an inspiration! Now to maintain! Just stay at a weight that is healthy and you feel good at!
Congrats!

Well, it's all about you, and how you feel, and how much you like yourself like this. You worked hard to get where you are at. so if you can say, I feel good about everything, who cares what everyone else thinks??? This is your life and it is all about you now. Guess they will just have to be happy where your bodys stops and settles in at.
Good luck, Diane
