Good Morning Barb! What a terrific quote and a lesson to be learned by many of us. We don't always have to have our "woe is me" face on and dress sloppy. Even though we feel like that on the inside, we can dress to the nines on the outside and have a smile on our face. I love it!

Today I am thankful:

that my God gave me the blessing of another day.
That I woke up this morning to my husband's arms around me and two dogs staring at me and panting bad doggy breath smell in my face! Eww, but I love them!
that my friends allow me to learn my own life lesson's without telling me "see, I told you so", Yet they still support me and accept me for me.
that my family is slowly coming to realize, that obesity is not a option and is not acceptable. Quite a few of them have started diets and 1 is even asking me about surgery!
for my OH family and friends. Where would I be without all of you? You make me laugh, cry, think, take responsibility, love, and most of all, you make me want to be a better person. Thank you! I offer my friendship and support to everyone of you everyday. I can not imagine my life without the support, love, and friendship that I have been shown on this board. Nor would I want to. I consider all of you my extended family. Hugs to all of you, my friends!
Have a fantastic weekend!

Huge hugs, lotsa love, & friendship always,

Michelle T.

Morning Barb....I mostly agree with Mr Ashe, but darn it, sometimes it just FEELS good to let your hair down, relax and not give a darn about being on top of your game...that' what weekends are all about! LOL  So, on that note,,,,,

I am Thankful today for:

1. It's the WEEKEND!!  I can forget the makeup, the matching top and slacks and whether my hair is perfectly in place or not. Jeans and T shirt, here I come LOL

2.  2 days of time with my husband...to re-connect..sometimes we are 2 bulls who butt heads and forget to compromise.

3. The continued support and encouragement I experience every day here on the Boards...we are definitely a unique group...we are all PRICELESS!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Good Quote.  I always liked Arthur Ashe.  Besides being a kick ass tennis player he was a man of extreme class and confidence.

Ok, so today I am thankful for

Just getting through a full week after having a good vacation the week before.

Thankful that my son is healthy, happy, doing great in his job, doing fabulous in school and calls me everyday just to say hi and tell me he loves me.

Mike, for always being there for me and reminding me how much he loves me.

I'm thankful that Mike's mom called last night to thank me again for redoing her phone book last week when I was there.  She has macular degeneration (as did my own mother) and is losing her eyesight and could not see her roladex cards anymore.  So I purchased large index cards and a plastic box to keep them in and rewrote her entire phone book. She is just pleased as could be with that and the talking watch and clocks I bought for her.

I'm thankful that we are bowling with some great people this year and just had so much fun at bowling last night.  We all laughed so much.

I'm thankful that it is the weekend and while it will be busy, I'll get to be busy with my favorite person who makes my life so full.  He may drive me crazy at times, but I love him with all my heart.

You know since I retired I have really gotten sloppy about my appearance during the regular day, so needed that.

I am so thankful for my DIL, Lisa!  After work she went to Super Target in A****er and called and invited me to go along.  I had such a good time.  My grandson held my hand until we found the toy I told him to pick out.  It was so good to be with them even if Devan slept the entire time I got to look at her beautiful face.

I am thankful for my amazing grandson is so amazing, he will be 3 in November, but if I tell him 1 toy he will pick out one and that is it.  Even when he was younger you would tell him 1 toy and that is all he would pick.  We would show him things and he would say no until he found what he wanted.  Gee you think that will stick? lol

I am thankful that I walked 1 mile today!

Ohhhh I think I had a previous life in the 1900's or Roaring 20's when everyone dressed to the nines every day and ladies wouldn't dream of going out improperly dressed or without hats and gloves on.. men were so handsome in suits with vests, ties, cufflinks, pocket hankies and watch chains... sigh.... a bygone so very civilized era for sure!

The higher the weight went for me the more comfortable I felt hiding beind sloppy loose fitting clothes and it really affected my success as a person and in my career in ways that I wasn't even fully realizing.

For me these days as my body changes, its really important to me that I look good, that my clothes fit me, show my figure and are stylish.  It  makes me feel soooo good about myself and gives me more confidence than Ive ever had.  To each his own, but appearances mean so much and it is definately an advantage out there in the wilds of society.

Today I am thankful for this lesson learned early on in my life back when I was thin, forgotten or ignored for a little while.. but that through WLS have had the good fortune to re-realize.

I am also so very thankful that its Friday and for the Warm Weather headed our way and the Sunshine that will undoubtedly recharge my proverbial battery!  Man do I feel wiped out today!

Love & Hugs to Everyone!  Have a great and safe weekend!!!

Hello Everyone
I really like the quote!
I am thankful for life in general because there is always someone out there that is worse off than yourself; my husband, children, grandchildren and sisters because they are there for me, especially during difficult times; all my friends incluing OH and LB Coffee because of the support and similar knowlege of where we were and where we are at today; and finally coming to the realization that no matter how embarrassed I am about my bat wings, it is okay to be comfortable and wear tank tops when it is 100 degrees outside!
Hugs to all,
Terry

It sure is good C'ING LESS OF ME!

We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp, some are pretty,
some are dull, some have weird names,
& all are different colors....but they

ALL exist very nicely in the same box.
