OT: I DID IT!

I did my first ever 5k walk today. My time was 63 min and 10 seconds. A little longer than usual, but hey it was my first one! I was so psyched! I had a lot of doubts in my head this morning, but I just tried to focus on the positive. There were a couple of times that I was like, thats it at least I tried. But then I was like--- "Oh hell no! Your goal is to finish this and I know I can do it!" So I just focused on getting to the next marker.  Howard took a picture before of me, Rhonda and some of her crew. I will try to post it, if I can.
I didn't get a finish photo, but boy was I glad to see that sign and the cheering crowd! It was such an awsome feeling! I am totally looking foward to walking the Long Beach 5k, now. Plus I hear Long Beach has a 5k on Thanksgiving Day, too! Its called the Long Beach Turkey Trot, hmmm, I just may look into that one too!
Thank you for all of you that had such encouraging words for me. I really appreciated it! For those gearing up for their first 5k's, just do it. You will have such faith and confidence in yourself. I love the boost it gives you. I am still on the natural "high".  Have a great day all!

Hugs, love, & friendship always!

Congratulations!

I hope I can start walking again soon.  I haven't got my surgery date yet, but I was told to lose 5 more pounds and I would get one.  I have lost the five pounds now and as soon as I get a chance to call and let them know, I am looking forward to getting a date before the end of the year.  The surgeon told me she would have some time in December, so I am planning on that.

I used to run when I was thinner, so I know I would love to do a walk lilke this.  an  hour isn't too long.  I will plan on doing something like this in the spring!

It was a great time!  Thanks for sharing the photo's I will have to snag those from you to print them out.  The kids had a ball.  Lexie was eating a burger kind ham and egg sandwich that crazy girl had to show you!  lol.

Congrats on your first.  I hope it is not your last one.  Keep on walking!

Yay Michelle -

I was going to send you a good luck last night but I play on the computer very late at night and you would not have had my good luck wishes until later when you got home.

Timing for your first 5k is not bad and at this point I would not worry about the time.  You accomplished the goal you set out to do and that was to FINISH!!!  I hope I have the same enthusiam you have when we do the LB 5k in a few weeks.  You'll probably just whiz right by me and if I can finish in 63 mins like you for your first 5k I will be forever thankful.  I will probably huff and puff all the way to the finish.

Looking forward to seeing you at the coffee and on Saturday the 10th when you stay with me for the LB 5k

Oh HOORAY!!!!!  You did it, congratulations!!!!

The Turkey Trot is such a fun run, I keep entering hoping to win a darned pie at the finish line.....no luck so far. (Random finishers are awarded free pies)

I hope the 5k bug spreads.....

I think the 5k bug has spread for the LB Marathon.  There seems to be quite a few of us entering this race.  I am still amazed that I am all signed up and doing this.  I guess if I would stop goofing off on the weekends and walk, I might actually convince myself that I am going to do this and finish.  Will not be walking tomorrow evening as I am going to the Angel / Yankee game.  I do have my priorities.   OO
