Good Morning Calif
Good Morning Calif...........
First off let me tell ya what a dork I am. I keep hitting the "message board" link waiting for the new topic part to open, I was thinking "great boards are down and here I am ready to post this morning" But nope it was the dork hitting the button's. Can't post when you are hitting the wrong link. Blond and proud!!!
Michelle, great job on your walk. Time don't matter, getting out moving does. You should be proud of yourself. I would like to join you for the turkey trot, but most likely I will be working. What I would really like to do it the Long Beach Half, but since my partner can not do them with me anymore, I guess I wont. LOL But I wish you luck.
I spent half the night hoping they would cancel me today and I would be able to sleep for the day, and the half trying to sleep since I knew they would not. Not a fun combination. Like I said, blond and proud.
At work, they have me working on units that I have not worked in a long time so I know what is going on. Its been years since I have not been in the ER, and I still remember the old time way of doing everything. The charge nurses where loving me, I was doing there work. LOL If I was to train someone right now, I would teach them the way I know, not how its done now. But I am learning.
OK time to for coffee and shower. Speaking of showers yesterday, I felt like I needed a shower seconds after my shower, it was so UGH yesterday. And yet in the building I was freezing.....
Take care one and all.

Good Morning Lu and Cali Guys and Gals,
Lu too early for a Sunday for me, but the dog had to have some quiet time and woke me right up! Lots of people are doing the 1/2 marathon in Long Beach you should check the list and hook up with someone. Sounds like you are enjoying your job again and that is a good thing! I miss you and DD I hope you all are doing well.
Well Yesterday I got so much work done it was amazing. First I went and did the 5 k with the kids and I was so proud. Sean actually kept running back to check on me and I think he ended up; doing a 10K lol. We crossed the finish line together holding hands and the Fantastic Foster Family! It was so cool. People were cheering as we had the babies in strollers and everyone had a matching shirt on that they gave us before the race it was the coolest.
Well after that I decided to work on some projects and clear my desk. I got my environmental plans for the week written. Got my schedule all geared up, got boxes for some projects that I need to work on, and organized those with the supplies I will need. I was blessed to get out of holding an outdoor cooking class! I think they would call that "HUSBAND" in my house. But I get to teach an outdoor craft class. Now that is more intresting so I have a huge prep for that, but it is done and I am ready to role.
I also got 7 loads of laundry done and my craft closet cleared up/out or what ever you say.
I know what I am going to do today! COSTCO. I love you Costco oh Yes I do! I love you Costco cause your always true, I love you COSTCO, You have what I need Oh Costco I love you.
Enough sentiment. I got to farm.
Love you guys,
Rhonda

Good morning Lu and California,
So I want to know what the heck I am doing up. I specifically said I was going to sleep in today. I think I would have if this darn hip had not started hurting so bad and the cats didn't decide it was playground time on top of the bed But I just took some allergy meds and a pain med and I'm sure I will go back to bed for a while soon. Think I will CLOSE the door when I do that. Keep the little monsters out of there. As I sit here they are running around the house playing "tag you're it". It's a stampede for sure.
Yesterday was a good day. Class was long, but at least we got through it. Had my first quizz and even with missing last week's class because we were away, I still got 100%. I have to pass this class with 80% total at the end in order to renew my license. So far I'm on schedule.
After class we met my son and his girlfriend at Downtown Disney. Had a nice dinner and some catching up time and brought them all the souveniers I got for them. They collect shot glasses and have quite a collection. They've gotten one from just about every hotel in Vegas and Laughlin and now they have started on states. Not that they go anywhere, but if they hear of anyone traveling to another state they ask for a shot glass. I was able to bring them back MA, NH and ME. They were very happy. Also brought my son his favorite Drakes Devil Dogs. You can't get them here on the west coast. They are an east coast cake for some reason. Well let me tell you, we had just finished dinner and he didn't even finish his dinner because he was full, but when I pulled the Devil Dogs out of the bag, he went straight for the box and had one. He was in heaven.
Jonathan's girlfriend Mandie recently started to work at a new Kohl's that will be opening in Placentia in a couple of weeks. Well she told me they are having a pre-opening event for employees and their families. She has to get the exact date, but for 6 hours, we get to shop at grand opening prices with whatever discounts and coupons we have plus a one time 30% employee discount. Employee discount is normally 15%. I'm so excited. I just can't wait. Mandie was so funny. She said, we should leave Mike and Jonathan home and tell them, "see ya in 6 hours".
Oh well, today will bring a day of nothing. That is what I decided. Not completely nothing. I do have to do laundry. That is a must. But other than that and probably reading my text books for a bit for next week, that is ALL I am doing. I just want to have a day to relax and this will be it. I might break down and make some dinner, but that is even iffy. So, on that note I think I shall get myself up from here and do what I plan on doing best today. Go back to bed and get some more sleep. Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday, and do something wonderful just for yourself even if that is just to do nothing today.

Good Morning Lu and all you Cali peeps! It's so nice to hear from you Lu - I've missed you!
I am up this early this morning because the *$(a*%)%( dogs woke me again. And the driveway alarm went off. WTF.............. they don't know how to sleep in? I need a new bed really bad because this one hurts my hips and my back.
Today brings me nothing but fun. Yesterday was a "work" day. I started the day off with a massive headache because that adorable man I married decide to wake me up out of a deep sound sleep at 3:30 am to help him get ready to go hunting. Then the horrible beasts woke me at 7:30 for their breakfast. I should have gone back to bed but didn't.
Jayden and I went and paid some bills, took Jezibele to get her shots at the Petco clinic (so we don't get a ticket for her expired license) and then went and took in Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. In 3D. It was sooooooo good I highly recommend it. However, the 3D part made my head hurt a bit more. After the movie, we went home and I took a 2.5 hour nap. It helped.
Went and ran errands and got all the items on my list crossed off and then Jayden and I went to a really good hole in the wall Mexican restaurant that I love that Joe won't go to because it's not Casa Ramos. Stubborn a$$................
He came home last night so we're going to spend the day together. 1:30 brings us GI Joe at the movies and Jayden back to his mom by 6. I do have to wash a load of laundry and dig out school clothes for Jayden and send them back.
Remember everyone to shake your booty and get in your water and vitamins. I am extra super proud of me today tho. I had gained another 5 pounds (bring the total to 12 gained). Well, this last week I have been very diligent and cut out all the crap, all the snacking and threw away the rest of the bag of Kirkland Trail Mix. I am down 5.5 pounds and keeping the ball rolling. I do have to go up to the gym and sign up and start my exercising again.
Later.............I hear a shower calling me

Hi Lu and Cali Crew,
Maureen, I have been a victim or shall I say willing participant in having Kirkland trial mix add a few pounds to me. I just smiled when I read that. Congrats on knocking back 5 pounds! My snacking has been my downfall lately. My brain just doesn't want to stop telling me to snack.
Stephanie, I need to find someone I know opening one of the new Kohl's in our area. All those discounts sounds like a good excuse for replacing every old sheet, towel, pillow, rug and so on. I hope you have fun with that!!
Today my husband and I are volunteering for a shift at the county fair to register voters. Before our shift we'll walk around and say hello to the animals and look at the art displays. My 14 year old cousin won second in the culinary arts Jr. division for his giant cookie, and another cousin won 3rd place for her photo of the leafy sea dragon. Later in the evening we'll be at my mom's helping her tend to her garden and maybe having dinner with her.
It's been a great weekend so far, but as usual, it's going by way too fast.
Take Care,
MsBlues

Good Morning Lu and Cali Crew!
Thank you, Lu for your encouragement! I was very proud that I entered and was able to finish. I stepped out of my comfort zone and just did it (like the commercial). Rhonda is right when she says the people at the end with their clapping and cheering really pump you up and make you feel proud of your accomplishment! I know many of you have done a few 5k's, but think back to the time that you did your first. Remember the pride and sense of achievement that you felt? That is so me, right now.
I was going to go to then LA County Fair, but then we have decided to go to the Route 66 Roundevoux in San Bernardino. It should be nice, so I am looking forward to it. Today is the last day.
I am having a problem... lately, I just am not hungry. When I try to think about what I want to eat, nothing appeals to me. Now I know, I have to eat and I need my protien, but the thought of food sometimes makes me feel sick. I have tried everything I can think of, but its like my taste in food has disappered. I like frozen yogurt, but there isn't any protein in there. The thought of chewing meat, is ewww. I am at my wits end. I don't want my body to go into starvation mode. I am taking my vitamins and drinking my water.
Have a fantastic day!
Hugs, love, & friendship,

Good Morning Lu and Cali Friends,
So glad to hear everyone is having a great weekend. I have had a great one as well with my step Mom Lil and the in laws. Yesterday Isla, Lil and I ran around to Bed, Bath and Beyond and also to Costco, we had a ball. Then I cooked a rib fest which was delicious, however my stomach this morning told me that I had too much fat. I didn't dump but got some pretty good stomach cramps this morning, so I now know that too much fat and grease isn't gonna happen for me all at a time. I did some pretty greasy food but no sugar! We had WingStop chicken wings for lunch, a couple of fries. For dinner, I had 1 rib, and 1 slice of a fried green tomato. Oh well, live and learn and I'm starting to feel much better.
Today, Lil and I will hit Michaels and then I will take her home.
Well I guess I better get moving and shaking for the day. Hope everyone has a great Sunday!
Hugs,
Barb

Liz
Liz, first words of advise ...water proof mascara!!! Enjoy the day and wishing your son and his new bride the very best in their new life together.
Michelle, Congrats on your first 5K, good for you,. As far as food not sounding good or the thought of meat ...ewwwww...I have that problem very often and this is what I do . I make something that I can usually handle like cottage cheese or eggs and I just start eating and I make myself eat at least a few bits and 9 times out of 10 I can get most of a serving 1/3 cup of cottage cheese or an egg sometimes 2 in before I know it. But I just have to get started if I let my taste buds rule I think I could starve myself. And eat the real yogurt not that other crap. Eat real food!!
Rhonda, sounds like you and the family had a great time and it sounds like much fun. Oh, and Groove is like saying Neat their "cool" words.LOL
Momo, would ya just go get that bed! LOL with our newly acquired boney butts we need good mattresses! LOL Mom and I just got a new futon mattress for the "guest/sewing room/my closet...and it it is bright RED! I let Mom go shopping by herself and she called and asked what color should she get and I told her it didn't matter cause nothing would go with anything in that room until we get the new ceiling and floor work done...So, it is bright RED and I am already thinking or really neat ideas (or Groove as Rhonda would say, LOL) for the room.
Lu, it sounds like you are doing well. I don't get to get on the computer much cause I am still waiting for my new glasses to come in...10 days has turned into 3 weeks so far!!!! Anyway, sometimes the old ways of doing things is still the best in my opinion, not all would agree but that is okay too.
As for me - my chest is still hurting like H*** from the fall I took last Tuesday and I just may have to go get an X-ray at least. And because it hurts to stand up straight and take a deep breath I am finding my back is hurting because I am not standing properly but if I do my chest hurts even worse, so, I guess I will give in and have the Dr tell me..."Joy, you have bruised your leg up pretty good and lets get an Xray for your chest and see if you broke a rib or two. Not that we will be able to do much about it but we will at least know what you have done to yourself this time"!!!! For those of you that didn't catch this graceful move...Last Tuesday night(a little after dusk I went to the neighbors and when I went through the gate my pants got caught on one of their animal cages and I fell chest first into the travel trailer/ hitch/ cranker up thingy. It knocked the wind out of me and I almost passed out, Grant helped me get back to my house and was ready to take me to ER and got a little upset with me cause I wouldn't go. Now he is doing the told you so crap, since I mentioned this evening that I might go see the Dr tomorrow.LOL Smart A$$ kids anyway!! LOL
The rest of my weekend was spent with my Mom's best friend (friends since high school and her youngest daughter that I have not seen in about 15 years or so. They came up for Mom's 55Th high school reunion and "Aunties" 54Th reunion...So many of them have pass on that they combine a few of the classes.
When they brought the pictures that were taken by the "professional photographer' I about crapped, I have seen some really BAD work but there was just NO excuse for how bad these were. Before I became disabled I earned my living as a photographer and this woman should have her butt kick for such horrible work. She cut off faces, nothing was centered, the composition was all off and I could go on and on but it wouldn't do any good. I told Mom next one the can just hire me!!!
Ok enough babbling.
Have a Great week everyone!!!
