A Amazing WOW Moment!!

Here is my "Amazing Wow Moment!" I am trying to save for my plastics, so I have put myself on a really tight budget, whi*****ludes almost no shopping & I have to wash my own car. Well, last night when I got home, I went to the designated area in my complex where you can wash your car. Well, ofcourse someone was already using the spot, so I went to another area. As I was pulling into the car wash spot, a guy that I have seen around there and sometimes I have spoken to, since I have been living there for the past FOUR years, proceeded to tell me not to use that area. He said there was a hidden area in the corner of the complex that was much nicer. So, I believed him & went to that area and low and behold he was right. This was a prime spot that was hidden.  Well, as I am beginning to rinse my car off, he shows up at & tells me he wants to help me. Being who I am, I said "Go for it!' Who am I to stop someone from washing my car. While he was washing my car, he proceeded to ask me, why he has never met me before? LMAO!!!  I told him, we have met before and I have lived there for FOUR years!!! I can't believe it! He washed & dryed my car! He even, put up with my comments of "you missed a spot!" This never would have happen to me before my RNY!  Gotta Love it!!

The reason he never met you before, or seen you around, is because you were that invisible fat person.  Life does change so much when you are thinner.  Of course thin people don't ever experience close to what we go through.  I was amazed at how many people smiled at me when I got thinner.  How many people were willing to help me do something, where before it was let that fat chick get out of her scooter and help herself, now they bend over backwards to help out. always asking if there is anything else they can do.  It just amazes me how different people act, because nothing has changed on our insides, just the outside package, but we are so judged for being overweight.

I hope this guy is cute, does your car every week, and decides a date is in order!  I do love it........yeah for you, you look great, and you should post a before and after picture of yourself.

C U tomorrow, and can't wait for a hug, remember nothing around the middle of me, can hug the top part with no problem!

Julie that is definitely a WOW Moment and we all deserve each and every WOW moment that we have.  Hey, why wouldn't he offer to help?  You are good looking and have good people skills.  An to have someone wash and dry your car is awesome! I LMAO when people ask "do I know you" or they say "there is something different about you" and more often than not is the phrase, "are you okay".  We might as well soak it up for all the past times that we should have had the wow moments.  LOL

We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp, some are pretty,
some are dull, some have weird names,
& all are different colors....but they

ALL exist very nicely in the same box.

In my post WLS journey the hardest thing to deal with was how society treated me different.  It was really really hard to wrap my mind around what was happening to me.  I was treated better in business situations.  Beautiful women would smile at me...making eye contact.  Others would come up to me and start flirting.  Before as I was walking bye, these same women would give me extra room and go out of their way to not be close to me...almost like I was a pervert or something!!  It really threw me for a loop when it first started.  You're thinking...I'm the same person...why are you doing this to me now??  It really make me aware of the person inside...not the outside.  Enjoy the ride...but keep your witts about you.  Brian

Jules,
That is awesome, good for you. It is amazing, when we get to be a nice size, all the guys will open doors for you(excluding husbands or boyfriends). It's amazing that they look at the outside and not the inside. My girlfriend wondered about that and I said oh yes, guys will hurry to open the door for me now. Crazy!! Gotta love it.

Hugs & Love,

Karen
