Anyone recommend a Psychiatrist for the weight loss surgery Pre OP Evaluation?
Hello,
I'm not sure what insurance you have but if you have Kaiser you can go through them. If you have an EAP through your work (employee assistance program) you could contact them and see if they have a recommendation for you.
One thing to note, you shouldn't need a psychiatrist. You really only need a licensed thereapist or a psychologist. This could be a MFT, MFCC, LCSW, etc...
I used the one through my doctors office. Her name is Tara Griffith and she met with me over the phone because I was kind of a far drive. She is on here, maybe you could ask her? TaraMFT is her screen name.
Good luck to you!
Meg

Hi there!
I posted a reply to you on the main board, but will repeat it here also.
My surgeon has a couple of great psychs that he refers to, and I know they take cash patients also. I will get their information when I go to my support group meeting on the 30th, and will PM you the information that night when I get back.
