Clothing Exchange....

Hey there!!

Just found this CA Forum a few days ago....AWESOME!!!  Tomorrow will make 17-weeks post-op for me...I had my surgery with Dr. Tanaka at Pacific Bariatric in San Diego on June 3rd.....so far I have lost 82lbs....

I was curious if there is anyone out there that perhaps runs (or knows of) a clothing exchange somewhere in the state....I have a bunch of clothes (ranges in sizes from womens 18-22...perhaps a few 16's as well by the time I get this all figured out), I am looking to just donate them to an organized clothing exchange for WLS patients but can't seem to find anything in my local area.  I am not looking for anything in return (clothing or otherwise)....just don't want to take the time to list them up indivdually here on the OH Clothing Exchange......My next option is to take them to a local Plus Size thrift shop we have here, but would rather pass them through a channel where folks can get some use outta them without it costing them!

Most of the clothes are in "hardly-worn" shape, as I bought a few things here and there to get me through and some of the items lasted only 2-3 weeks.....quite a few pairs of jeans, including GAP Brand,  American Eagle, Old Navy.....also quite a few tops ranging in size from 1X-4X.

I will cover shipping expenses, etc....just want them to go to a good "home"....

If anyone can point me in the direction of donation, I'd be much appreciative!!!

Where in CA are you from?  if it's anywhere near Long Beach/Seal Beach, there's a monthly meeting where people bring/exchange clothes at a local Starbucks.

As Javi stated the Long Beach/Seal Beach Coffee is a great get together and they have an awesome clothing exchange.  Also, on Nov 7th Katt is putting together a Tom's Farm event and there will be a clothing exchange there...

Hope to meet you at Tom's Farm...it is way of meeting new people...

I am in Chino, so both Long Beach and Tom's Farms are fairly close.  When does the group meet in LB?  I will have to check my calendar at home to make sure nothing else is going on, but the Tom's Farm sounds like fun!!

Would be great to meet you at Tom's Farms on Nov. 7th!  There will be a big clothing exchange there!!!

Long Beach meets on the last Saturday of every month.. 10 - noonish at Starbucks. well its in seal beach now but its a blast!!!  We just met this past Sat so next one is in October.
