I was diagnoised ( two years ago) with Endometriosis, I am pre op for the sleeve.

I was wondering if this could cause any issues with my Endometriosis or not. I dont want to suffer with that pain again... EVER!!!

So if anyone was any information I would love to hear it.

A year ago I had one ovary removed and its helped with the pain, I am talking full blown labor pain for a year I suffered.

I have spoken to my OB and she cant find a reason to worry but I dont want to chance it. She was another factor in me going for the sleeve and not the RnY. Cause if the Endometriosis comes back I have to be on some heavy drugs for it but I am not thinking in that light... I dont want to think like that I want to think its gone, and its going to stay gone!!!

Just like my weight will be post op!

God bless our troops

I've had tons of issues with endometriosis, but I'm not sure how it's all related with the sleeve.  I was taking percocet for the pain during my time of the month as that's when it would hit me the hardest. In Feb of 2008, I had a D&C and they also burned off a ton of endometriosis to help with the pain.  Unfortunately, that didn't help.  In July 2008, I had endometrial ablation which just made it worse for me.  The pain was really bad, I felt like I was eating percocet like candy.  Finally in January of 2009, I had a hysterectomy which has solved everything for me.

Have you looked into the endometrial ablation like NovaSure?  I know that it works really well for others.  The pain associated with the ablation surgery was actually not as bad as it was with the D&C that I had earlier that year.  It was that the ablation just didn't work for me and made it worse.  Each person is different though.

I don't know anything about endometriosis except that I hear it hurts but I did want to tell you that you are in my prayers and I hope that your pain stays away. Take care of yourself.

I see no reason why the sleeve would affect your endometriosis.  I got the sleeve a year ago.  I have had no change in the amount of cramps I have. If anything, they may be a little better then they used to be.  But that may just be wishful thinking on my part.  I was never officially diagnosed with endometriosis, (They never actually did the scopes to see it) but was told by my Gyn that I had it due to my monthly symptoms. (Week long+ periods, cramping, etc.)

Hope this helps.
