Good Morning Cali
Anyway last night I went to dinner with friends (actually my friend that does the estate sales took all of us "workers" to dinner as a thank you. It was super yummy even if most of it is in my frig right now waiting to be heated up later for lunch and dinner.
Ok so its almost time for the LB marathon this weekend - I can not wait for Thonda to come and stay with me - but I just have to make sure I get some fun things planned to do for Sat. I know we will be going to the Expo to pick up our numbers. And everyone that is participating that wants to get together Sat early evening let me know....I am leaning toward the El Dorado Restaurant on Spring and Studebaker - it is pretty local and they have an area that we could all sit and visit and their food is pretty good too.
Ok so let me know about who wants to hook up on Sat before the race/walk/ride.
Ok so time to go get a cup of coffee and check emails - I am praying for everyone close to the fires...Ihate this time of year for that reason....
Hugs to all.....have a great day
Great post my dear. I hear Heather is doing great! Her house was saved and that is an awesome thing. I believe and don;t quote me that she will probably get to go back home today. I have this from a secret and reliable source (Thanks Diane via Doug). The race is going to be so great. I can't wait for the weekend. It is going to be a blast. I also get to rest up on Monday and that is an even better thing. I have the Day off and that makes me super duper happy. I want to hook up with you before the race if I may. Let me know where and what time. I am doing the 1/2 marathon so I know that those people start at a different time than the 5 and 10k people. I heard that you can get parking ahead of time did you do that? If not Maybe we can car pool and I will take care of the parking let me know. Well off to a busy day at work and my farm. You all take care and enjoy!
Rhonda
If possible CAR POOL! Parking is pretty abundant but you will most likely have to pay for it. I think I parked across from the convention center last year.
I sure do miss living in the neighborhood!! I used to just walk from my front door to the start line!!!
Good luck ladies, you're going to have a blast!!
I have my coffee and trying hard to wake up. I tossed and turned all night, scared the phone would ring about DD. She is back in the hospital. It seems that one of de-section is causing problems to her body on the left side. She is in lots of pain from about rib cage down into her left leg. When left the hospital last night, they still didn't know what they where going to do, so they gave her another shot and knocked out. My question is... WHY NOT FIX THE DE-SECTION???? Seem so simple to me. I was asked to not return to the hospital when I left yesterday because I have a bad cold. It upset me, but I do understand. I guess. My other sisters where up there with her after I was asked to leave.
I would like to wish all of you running/walking the LB 1/2 a great time. I have been thinking about doing the LA marathon next year. But have not made up my mind, and worry about my back and foot if they would make it throw the training and the race itself.
OK time for more coffee in hopes it helps me wake and start moving.
LL
Sorry to hear about DD. If you need anything let me know and it is for the best that you stay away from the hospital until the cold is gone. Better for the patients and better for you. With your resistance down from having a cold and the sinus issues you've been dealing with, you could get yourself sicker and when DD gets out of the hospital you'll be of no use to her whatsoever then. So take it slow and let your other sisters do their part at the hospital.
Is she here by me or in Riverside? I don't know her but I'd go see her, except Mike and I both have colds at the moment too. But, if she needs anything and is here, let me know and I can bring it over to the hospital and leave it for her with the nurses.
Anyway, you take care of yourself and get rid of that cold finally. I love ya and am here for you.
Steph
Ah a nice cup of coffee and a cool morning, what a great combination. Yesterday I felt like I actually had some time to do work, folks left me alone for almost the whole day so I had time to do some things.
Today brings a meeting (or two) at work and then I get to get my hair done tonight whoo hoo.
Not too much else is new in my neck of the state. I am holding good thoughts and saying prayers about those affected by the fire and especially for Doug and Heather & Chris.
Hope everyone has a great day,
Hugs,
Barb

Well today should be pretty easy. I have work and then I think some friends are coming over for dinner. We went yesterday and got new cell phones. Since DH is starting a new job did not want him surfing the net or missing emails from work. I got us both Blackberry's (crackberry I think for him).
The preschool visit went well Ms. V did not want to leave. Now we just have to decide if this is the one or not. The only draw back is the beginning time when I am on the road. DH would not be able to drop her off before he leaves for work--so we have to come up with some alternatives.
Hope everyone has a great day.
It is such a beautiful fall day, today! The air is crisp and clean, (albeit, a tad smokey from the fire, but not bad, since the winds have died). I had a very nice day with my hubby yesterday. We had errands to attend to, and even did a trip to Wal-Mart ( I love my hubby's discount card!). Came home and watched Monday night football (actually I tried to work on my farms, but farmtown didn't like me last night, it kept freezing up on me.).
I spoke to Heather, and yes, they will be letting them go home. She was quite anxious to go home and sleep in her own bed. She was doing fine. She told me to tell all of you thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. She really appreciates it. Consider all of you hugged by her, lol! She was in good spirits, despite the situation. Chris' mom was down on a visit, so they were fine.
I am looking forward to the LB Marathon 5k, too! I believe a group of us are walking together to support each other. This is the first 5k post-surgery for a few, so its not about time or anything. Its about support and friendship to me. I will be staying with Annette, and I am sure she wants to get together the night before, too. She had mentioned the El Dorado, too. I am just a passenger, so where she goes I go, lol. I know we are going on Saturday to pick up our packets.
I am so happy for you, Jean! I am glad you are out dating again. Its always nice to have a friendship turn into something more. Cause you have that friendship base. I am glad you are playing the field and taking it slow. Slow and steady wins the race. I wish you love & happiness, my friend!
Not too much planned today. Just another walk, I am trying to prepare for saturday. I am afraid I am going to freeze, its going to be cold by the beach. BRRRR! I hope everyone has a wonderful day!
Hugs, friendship, & support,
Michelle T.
Well, that's it for now; I hope everyone has a great day, and here's hoping the best for those out near the fires.
