A funny wow moment....

My sister called me yesterday, the family is going out to lunch today and she was letting me know. I already had plans and can't go but my sis was telling me about family gossip and such.....

My sister told me that my mom was complaining about lunch. Usually my mom pays for us when we go out to eat....even for her own birthday and mother's day my mom INSISTS on picking up the check. She's kind of crazy like that....I think its a control-freak thing.

Anyhow, my sister told me that mom was mad because she says my sister runs up a big lunch tab. She'll order a drink (or two) appetizers and a full meal. If we go to a nice place, my sister can run a pretty big bill. My mom complained "Monica NEVER does that! She doesn't cost a lot at lunch!"

I began to laugh, I told my sis "It's because I can't eat!!" Even then, I take my leftovers  home and can get one or two more meals from it.

Gone are the days when I would finish the bread basket, my meal and go home wanting to eat more!  Love my little pouch!!! :) 

 

That is cute!  But your mother really has no room to complain because she offers! My dad is like that.  They had some friends come to visit and they went out to lunch and he insisted on paying.  Of course they were supposed to say, "No, no we can pay our own way." But they are not that kind of people.  Well all my dad did was complain because they did not share a plate like they do when they pay their own way.  He never learns! 

This is funny, Monica and I can soooo relate LOL  I remember the days of the dinner out at our favorite mexican restaurant....not just 1 basket of taco chips (before dinner) but at least 1 refill and then at least 2 items on the main course :-(    Since my surgery, we haven't gone back...there is so much on the plate (forget the chips!) and taking left overs home is a waste of time...grouchy pouchy doesn't tolerate them!  Seems ridiculous to me...but it's just not worth the 'ache' of trying to eat leftovers.

Sorry you had to miss lunch with family, tho....
