Need a bariatric friendly general doctor in Redding, CA

 I have a problem.  My general doctor is not listening to me on what a bariatric patient needs in testing.  I wanted to see if anyone in the Redding area has a general doctor who is knowledgeable in bariatrics.  I told my doctor I need a bone density scan and she basically protested. She said I was to young to have a test like that and my insurance will not cover it.  I called my insurance and they said as long as the doctor orders it and if it is deemed medically necessary they will order the test.  I phoned my surgeons office and they recommended that my doctors office add a v code on the form when ordering the scan stating I am a gastric bypass patient.  I did ask my surgeons office to write a note to my general doctor and they said it is not their job to educate my general practitioner.  I said who is a educated general practitioner in Redding.  They wouldn't recommend anyone.  When I phoned the office back for my general doctor the doctor herself picked up the phone and said if she orders the test even though they said they would cover it over the phone they probably won't.  I don't understand her problem.  I need another doctor that is knowledgeable.  Anyone in the Redding area that has any recommendations?
