Found My Way - Day 23

I had a good day yesterday.  I watched what I ate, and kept busy, and did not snack or graze.  It is cold and rainy so I threw together a pot of chili.  I used Boca Burgers for the "meat" and did not tell my family until after dinner was done. They loved it.  It was quite funny.   I feel good, but the darn scale won't move.  I am more discouraged than I realized.   But the good thing is that my normal attitude is 'SCREW IT" and just eat what I want to.  But today, after I got off the scale my first thought was "what do I need to change to make this better?"   I giggled to myself and realized that I already have changed some if that was my first thought.

I have done a mental rundown of my day and what I ate and what I did.  I know that my problem is not enought water and not enough exercise.  I am not eating very much so it would be hard to cut back even more.  I know I am not eating too little, so I just need to get my body moving.  That will definitely make the difference.   My goal for myself today is to find time at least twice during the day to stop and do 10 minutes of exercise.  That's it. Just 10.   I deserve that.

Well the journey is still progressing, but of course not as quickly as I hoped.   I am just taking it one day at a time and trying to figure this out as I go.

Hi Deanna, Sounds like you are doing just fine.  I think it is great that you are posting each day because this is a motivator to keep you on track too.  Your persistence will pay off.  Wishing you continued success.

It sure is good C'ING LESS OF ME!

We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp, some are pretty,
some are dull, some have weird names,
& all are different colors....but they

ALL exist very nicely in the same box.

You are already successful.  You have control over your life once again and are accountable for everything you are doing.  As Terry said, posting is great, and you have done so for over 3 weeks now.  You have already evaluated what your problem is as to why you don't think the scale is moving, and are handling it.  Can't ask for more than that, and yes you do deserve 10 minutes of exercise.  It will be time alone with your thoughts and will be YOU time.

Continue to post, you inspire me everyday, and you have no idea who else may be benefiting from your posts either!

Hugs, Diane

Good morning!
I love reading your posts everyday.  It rained really hard all day here yesterday so I made chilli Too!  I did it with Turkey and it turned out awesome.
Have a great day!

Hi Deanna
Unfortunately, I have heard from others who are beyond 2 years out that it is easier to gain it back but harder to take it off...something to do with slower metabolism (sp).  In fact, my sister, a lapbander, is struggling to lose 7 lbs she gained over the holidays last year :-(  She's almost there but admits it took upping her exercise routine to get the metabolism moving.

The great thing: you have learned how to use and work your tool....you are more aware today what you are eating and your behaviours regarding food.  And best of all: you are setting a positive example for your kids...you have made this a family affair! ^_^  Please keep posting...your story could be any one of ours...and it helps all of us stay on track. Thank you for taking the time to share your journey with us!
Hugs

Deanna,

Don't give up, you're doing great.  You're already a success for getting back on track, the scale will move.

Hugs,
Barb
