OT Should I buy a WII? and WHY?
I went to the new Costco's grand opening in Elk Grove..and they have WII Fit Plus on sale for just under a $100 bucks and I've seen the WII's for as much as $199...soooooo
I was wondering...do you have one? and why did you buy one? What is the difference between a WII and a WII Fit Plus? Unfortunately, when you go to Walmart, Costco or Sam's, there isn't any sales people that really know anything about the products. I have a very vague idea what a WII is, a friend has one and says she loves the tennis and bowling....but I've seen others post here that they get a a##-kicking exercise out of some program also.
Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated....I need something to step up my exercise routine...walking by itself is getting old and really not enough. But then, again..maybe I'll buy a Kindel and read some good classics ROTFL

I hope this helps you, The Wii that is 199, is the console unit that you need to play the games on. WiiFit is one of the games/exercise you play on the Wii. We have one, we love ours. Before my back problems I played the bowling with Doug and my dad, some fierce competition was going on, and we had a blast. I would recommend it, but please do not go out and buy a bunch of games, some are really lames, and some are really fun, so before you spend money on any games, read up on them and read reviews. Several people on here love the Wiifit program.
Hope that helps you out some. Please take care and enjoy your weekend

Thanks Diane...that makes it crystal clear ^_^ Kinda like buying an Atari..and then buying Donky Kong to play on it (boy! am I dating myself here ROTFL).
But you have been a big help...so to buy one plus a game, the exercise program for example...I'm looking at $250 minimum. Maybe I'll keep walking ;-)
Hope you are resting today...and that the back is healing faster. ^_^

Hey,
I just got the Wii fit plus and I love it. You do however have to buy the wii too. it has all kinds of exercises you can do on it and it makes exercising fun for me so that I actually do it. When you buy the wii it comes with a disk with some sports games on it. I like those but the Wii fit plus has the balance board that you incorporate into the games. I do get a workout from it and it keeps me motivated.
I am much more likely to use the wii fit plus for 30-45 minutes rather than walk outside. I get too bored outside and only walk a few minutes then head back in. Hope this helps a little.

Thanks Nathalie for your imput. If I didn't have the dogs to walk with me, I'm afraid I would do the same thing..once around the block and head back in LOL I have my treadmill but that is really boring unless I've got Jeopardy on and then the 1/2 hour goes by quickly. With winter fast approaching...and I hope a whole lot more rain, I really need something indoors to keep me going.

Hi Nancy! Michael and I have a Wii Fit and we really like it. We use it often and mostly to play games on together.. we love boxing the best, and tennis and golf and bowling are fun too.. we either end up in a competitive battle or laughing fits. We use it for together fun more than for exercise since we are both engaged in excercise elsewhere... but we do work up quite a heat when we are playing. I kinda always think of it as my failsafe when I get bored with my walking, YMCA or exercise DVDs.. then would turn to it - the yoga is challenging and fun, and Michael likes the running... but so far Ive not gotten past the cyber instructors - preferring Leslie Sansome and Billy Blanks instead! :) I did see what looks like a great new "workout game" for the Fit by that personal trainer Jillian from Biggest Loser. That looked intriguing... But she yells.... and I don't respond well to people yelling at me... so probably won't buy it anytime soon... anywhoodles.. I digress... I think the Wii Fit is worth the money I think if you are committed to using it.
Hugs!

Thanks Rachel for the info. I just got an email telling me I can buy the WiiFit Plus for $93.50 and free shipping from Buy.com. Wonder if the price is coming down since it has been out a while. Or maybe the price might dip a little further as we get near Christmas. Since I don't have the money right now, guess I'll watch the ads really close and see what happens. It is sounding more inticing tho...sounds like a great way to stay indoors and still MOVE LOL
thanks again!

Nancy Get one! I have one I love it but there is one huge problem, my kids never let me play with it. I wait till they are off doing something and I quietly go and hook it all up and start doing something then poof next thing you know they are taking it away from me because I am not doing it right, or fast enough or good enough or long enough or whatever! I think I am going to get myself one and keep it in my room and not even tell the kids I have it! I love it bunches. Ok what is Kindel? Is that one of those things that Lucy and Ethel used to use, where you strap this belt around you and it jiggles all your fat away? Hey did that work I need one for loose skin if they make it.
