OT: My new house

OK, so here I go again. I deleted my first post by accident. So I just bought a house. A foreclosure, and it is an experience. An ucler producing one actually. When you buy a foreclosure, you are at the merci of the bank. My offer was accepted within a week, but then it took the bank a month to sign it back to me. They were waiting for a better offer. They did actually have an all cash offer on the table, but they got so tired of waiting, they pulled there offer. I had thought about that a few times too. So the bank signs the house back to me, and I think great, what else could happen. Well the appraisal comes back low, and so I'm told, its OK we can just do another one. So another one is done. The inspection is done and it couldn't be better. I am set, at least I think so. Then 2 days before I go to Scotland, I get a call, telling me that the second appraisal can't be used. It is a long story, so I leave for Scotland thinking OK it wasn't meant to be, but I have already mentally moved into the place and redecorated. While I am away, I get an email that states we are a go, the house is mine. I signed my papers on the house last Thursday night and close is on Wednesday. I am finally getting excited about all of this, but will be totally relieved when the keys are in my hand and I have changed the locks. So anyone wanting to come and visit from down south. I have plenty of room. You are all welcome to stay at my place.

Wow Eileen,

I love the pictures of your house.  It can be a very trying time between signing papers and actually getting the keys.

Congrats and have fun decorating.

Beauuuutiful.  I love your kitchen.  That is the favorite part of a house for me, no not because of the food, but because it's one of the most valuable parts of a house and you got a really good looking one.  I can't wait to see it all decorated.  Please make sure to post those pictures too.  CONGRATS!

Hugs, Diane

Hey Hey Eileen....great house!!  I too love the kitchen...with the counter in the middle of the room...I've always wanted one like that.  And the family/living room is great with those french doors.  Sure looks big enough to have our No Cali lunch in ROTLF

We'll have to have a house warming party instead of lunch!!  Be sure take pictures during the decorating..not just at the end ^_^  Congratulations Ms Home Owner!  And no Buyers Regret..that house is just tooo nice.
