I noticed lately that a lot of newbies are here and I think we should give them all a proper WELCOME!  Welcome to all of you.

Now you old timers how about posting one thing that you wish you knew in the begining that you did not find out till later or something that one should really do or not do?  I think this would be of great support to the new people on the board.

I will go first.

FOLLOW THE PROTOCOL OF YOUR OWN DOCTOR, DO WHAT YOUR DOCTOR TELLS YOU TO DO AND NOT WHAT YOU HAVE HEARD ANYWHERE ELSE BUT FROM YOUR DOCTOR.

I got so confused in the begining and everything just came down to what my paticular doctor said.  Each doc is different and each Doctor has his ideas and thoughts and success.  You chose your doctor and you should believe in him.

Best of luck everyone and I look forward to hearing everyone's advice.

Define "old timer"......age? years out? life's experiences?
Women are angels.
...and when someone breaks our wings, we simply continue to fly...on a broomstick.

We are flexible.

I will take it one step further Darlene.

YOU ARE NOT AN "OLD TIMER" IF YOU ARE BARELY MORE THAN A YEAR OUT.

Once you are two and a half to three years out and you REALLY have to fight to keep the weight off, then you are an old timer.  Not until..............

No offense to you, Rhonda, no offense at all.  As you grow further and further out in the journey, you will understand this statement.  When you are still just barely over a year out, you still are on your honeymoon, and if you are already slipping, then you really need to slap yourself and get back on track immediately or you will fail.  No rainbows here, just the truth.  It may sound harsh, but if the oldtimers chime in, they will 100% agree with me.

Anything else to add Darlene?

Written with sincerity..

Hey "oldie",  this "oldie" is right here with you.  Read my post.  I don't think you were nearly as harsh as I was.  And I wish someone had been around 5 years or more to be this harsh to me.  This is not a cure all.  It doesn't cure or fix anything.  It's a platform to jump off of.  How you hit the water at the end of the journey, is up to you.

So from one oldie to another, I love ya!!!

No offense taken my dear.  That is what I love about these boards there are people that have such great information.

Can I be honest.  I want to to know more and I am a newbie in so many ways!  I need more information so I was hiding behind this post.  Thanks Jill  Thanks for sharing and pulling the covers off this darn old broad!

I'm an oldie but goodie!

You are RIGHT on target Jillie......Newbies have to understand that it is certainly possible to regain some weight back and the further out you are, it becomes very challenging.

64?  I think you are big fat LIAR!  You in no way shape or form look anywhere near 64!  So try again!  I will go for 54 but no way 64.  Old is a state of mind anyways Hell I feel like I am 6 most days.
