Im back.......I hope

Greetings all,

I did'nt think that I was going to be missed but boy was I wrong. Just got done reading the posts from the past 4 or 5 days and all I can say is thank you. A few months back I converted over to Uverse through AT&T and it decided to crash last Friday. Had no internet, TV or home phone service for the past 6 days (what a nightmare). I could only receive calls since Friday morning.

I want thank everyone that kept the "Did You Move To Lose" daily posts alive. I really liked doing that post andfrom what I can see, its well liked.

To answer a few questions, I am OK. My health is fine although I did have some minor surgery on my left foot on Friday to repair a toe that wasnt doing to good......No more fat on the bottom of my feet.

As far as the job, well I made it to the top 2 to be hired but unfortunately, I didnt get the job. The other candidate just a little more experience than I did and she one out. (Second time this has happened LOL). Good thing is I was picked up by a place based in Palm Springs as a Hospice Nurse. I will be working in the Inland Empire starting next week I hope. Not what I really want to do but it will pay the bills.

Hey Rick...so glad to see you back and that it was 'only' computer problems ;-)  I read your post earlier last week about the toe so wasn't concerned there...just thought maybe that oral dental surgery was causing additional problems.

Congrats on the job!  I know it might not be exactly what you wanted but in this economy, a job is a job is a job (unfortunately).  The odd thing? Employers are really strange (sometimes)...if you are already employed, they want you for their job...if you are not working when you interview, they somehow see that as a 'bad' thing....I'll bet now that you'll be working again..the jobs will come crawling out of the woodwork! 

And you can bet we enjoy your daily thread...for me it helps motivate me and keeps me out there  moving!

Thanks for all the kind words. You are exactly right, a job is a job right now and hey, if I can make someones life a little easier for a while then so be it. The employers are wierd about being currently employed but hey I only need 6 months to a year and I can move on if I decide to.

Well I am certainly glad you are ok.  Isn't it amazing we lose all this weight and our body still falls apart.  Gee maybe I won't be changing to Uverse then if you had that kind of problem.  I changed my phone to them, and they have got my bill so screwed up, someone elses 150 bucks is on my account, just so stupid and I can't get then to call me back to fix this.

Congrats on the job.  Getting ANY job in this economy is great, so it's great for you and the checkbook.

Yay your back!!! I was wondering what happened to you... I am glad that the toe isn't giving you too much trouble.

Also congrats on the job. I worked hospice for 2 years and it is probably the best job I have ever had. The patients and their families are always so gratefull to have someone there in such a hard part of their lives.

Well anywho I hope that your phone/internet/tv decide to not go on vacation again. Talk to you soon.

Welcome back Rick.  You area vital part of the Cali board!  Of course we miss you when you are gone.  I am so glad it was just computer problems too.  Hospice was just called in to help with my dad, and the first nurse we talked to told us she liked to move around a lot, she figured she would only do hospice a short while but it has been 15 years now.  Keep applying though and hopefully you will get right where you want to be.
