Hello California

I've been lurking on the RYGB board for a couple of weeks... and today I found the CA board!!! 

About me; My name is Anne.  I live in Sunny San Diego.  I'm an RN and work for the county.  I had gastric bypass on 10/23/09; so I'm the world's biggest newbie at this point.  Married to a great guy, have three adult kids, and two four legged kids.

Welcome!  So glad you joined us.  We are a great group here for support and friendship!  There are so many really neat and kind people on this board.

My name is Maureen (everyone here calls me MoMo) and I have SEVEN kids - 1 foster son, 3 biologicals and 3 steps.  Yes, I am the Most Evil Step-Mom-Ster on the face of the earth,  5 boys, 2 girls.  Ages 26, 25, 23, 20, 19, 18 and...... 6.  I'm married to the most wonderful Bald Barbarian and we have 3 pure-bred labridors.  Hunting dogs.  My Maggie is preganant and due on Thanksgiving.

I just wanted to add we have one black lab. Her name is Indy and boy does she love to get those birds.  She is also the most loving dog on the planet!  We love her so much.  She thought my husband went hunting without her the other day and cried and cried until he came back in the house.  He just left to run an errand before he went hunting. She weighs about 60-65 lbs and has the smaller head. Good Luck with the new litter.  I also have a 14 1/2 year old poodle that is my baby!

Oh I almost forgot!  Welcome to the board Anne you will love it here!  My husband is also a RN.  In fact he graduated from San Deigo State back in 77or 78.  Any way a long time ago!

I had RNY 5/27/09. I am one pound away from hitting my 80 pound weight loss mark. I live in Santa Cruz and and I am a top aid to an elected official. I am also married and have no two legged kids, but have 2 four legged kids that make the "meow" sound. 

I've had a lot of help from this board. I've asked a lot of questions and have had great responses. I've had support when I've presented my emotions on a sleeve as well.

Welcome Anne!  Glad you found the Cali board and it's always nice to see more San Diego people....we should try to get a local group together for lunch or something soon!

OoO what color is Maggie? and what color will her puppies be??? My labs are chocolate and yellow.  Max is the chocolate male - 88lbs, Lady is the yellow female - 75lbs.  My four legged babies.

I love the idea of setting up something in San Diego, that would ROCK!!!!!

My Maggie is 5 years old and a Black Canadian Labrador.  She is small, petite and FAST.  Dock Jumper.  Smaller head.  We bred her with a Chocolate Lab whos is "English" - that is a big block head.  Most likely her pups will be black.  They have championship hunters on both lines.  My Jezibele is 8 years old and a big block head - 98# worth.  Roxy, the baby, is 2 1/2 years old and yellow.  She seems to think she is the Head Blonde in Charge but I beg to differ with her.  When hubby is paying more attention to me than to her, she's tryng to horn right in.  Roxy was flushing and retrieving pheasant at the age of 7 months.

Welcome to the Cali board. My name is Eileen I live in the Bay Area, and I am also a nurse. I had my surgery on 02/03/09, so I am too still a newbie. I have no pets, although if my friends had anything to do with it, I would have a dog. I just bought my first house and they all feel I should have one. Maybe one day. This is an awesome group of people, who offer great support

You have come to the right place.  We got some great gals down in your area.  Some of those great gals come up to the Long Beach coffee and the Tom's farm events.  Please feel free to join us this Saturday, I am sure you would love it and can pick up some new clothes to boot.  You like me have a great hubby, but I got cha beat in the kid department.  I have 3 adult children and 7 still at home the youngest is 11 months and the oldest at home is 15!  lol.  I only have 1 four legged freind, but she is as big as two!  But I got 7 chickens and they all have 2 legs do they count?  Welcome to our craziness, we are bunch of great gals that are here to support.  Enjoy and ask anything you want.  There is always someone who will know the answers.

Oh My Rhonda Rhonda!  My dear there are others on this board besides cats, dogs, chickens, ferrets and et all...Pleasssse don't forget our absolutely gorgeous, humorous, funny, loving, supportative MEN!  They are GREAT also!!!!  And it is my understanding you gals do allow them at LB coffee, lunch and all the other great get-togethers down your way ^_^  

Hey Guys....forgive Rhonda!!  She admits she is 'old' (51 after all as last SHE reported!) and she does admit to forgetting things or people or even what she is saying LOL  But you do all know, she has a Heart as big as Montana...it was just a slight oversight on her part she was so excited about welcoming a newbie....You KNOW she loves you all!! 

Ok, Rhonda...I think that should sooth any ruffled feathers...just don't forget the MEN next time!!  Sheesh...what ya gotta do for your friends ...  Love ya Ms Rhonda....I've got your back every time
