Washington Update

Just wanted to update everyone.

We arrived Sunday afternoon after 24 hours of driving.  When we got to the condo, I almost turned around and went back home.

If any of you have ever seen the show Horders..........well, the homes in that show were emmaculate compared to what we found.  Harley's youngest brother had been living there, rent free for three years.  During that time he never once cleaned.  The dogs were allowed to pee and poop on the carpet.  I won't even tell you how awful the crap on the toilet was caked on.

I tried to put on my happy face and began cleaning.  After scrubbing the kitchen counter top over and over and realizing I was making no progress with the dirt and grease after an hour, I broke down.  Our friends, who'd flown down and helped us drive home to Washington took us to their home, so we could just step away and regroup.

Harley's other brother and his wife have put us up in a hotel through tonight.  We've spent the last two days working out butts off cleaning.  This afternoon they put new carpet in, the kitchen and bathrooms are clean.  We've taken HUGE amounts to the dump and it's now at least to the point of being "livable".  So tomorrow we move in.  We still have MUCH to do, but so far two days of work with the help of family and friends hascompletely tran.formed what we found when we first arrived Sunday to a place I'm looking forward to living in.  So I'm feeling hopeful and moving forward each day.  Hopefully tomorrow we can bring out things in from the garage and start making this our home

The condo is honestly beautiful.  I've just never in my life seen such a mess.  Some friends asked me for pictures of our new place and all I could send them was the view from out back deck, which is breathtaking.

At this point, I'm still very happy we made the move and it will all work out.  I'm sorry I didn't let you all know we'd arrived sooner, but I'm sure you can understand my initial hesitation.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for our new adventure.

So glad that you have arrived safely and things are getting back in order for you.  So sorry that it has been a filty nightmare for you.  Gosh I hate dirt in my house.  Drives me insane, and I just can't imagine.  I do watch that show Horders in utter amazement.

Once you get all moved in I would love to see pictures, and anytime you want to post some of the view....I am waiting,

Hugs to you both, Diane

Thank you Diane.   I'm with you,  I hate dirt and filth.

Tomorrow, we should have the computers all set up in our loft/office area and if I can find the cords for the camera, I'll upload pictures from our deck.  I just love the view.  It is truly beautiful here.  I'm hoping to get some pics of our kitties in their new home too.  This place is much bigger than our apartment and I think they're going to love having all this room to play in.

I do have a picture from the deck on my cell phone which I can send to anyone who'd like to see it.  Just PM me your cell phone number.

Janeene!

OMG What a mess!  We totally understand your frustration and why you did not let us know sooner.  I am so sorry about what happened to you.    Just think you did not have to go to the gym and work out or anything.  I bet you are sore though as cleaning is a real work out!   I am sure your place is going to be just gorgeous when you get done doing your thing with it.  If your home is anything like your clothing (which is never in my size by the way)!  lol.  It is going to be one hot Home!  I am sure in a while you will look back on this and just laugh.  But I am sure it is hard to see the humor in all of this right now.

When you get all settled in let us know and we would love to see pictures.  We are missing you guys already.

Janeene,

So glad you made it to WA safe and sound, but so sorry you've had to endure the emotional roller coaster for the past couple of days.  Family and friends who pitch in to support and lend a hand, are truly the best.

Don't be a stranger to the Cali Board.

Hugs,
