Cheap Clothing Advice
Hi all,
As I ran down the stairs in my house, my pants started falling off of me. I've been retiring more and more of my wardrobe.
While I've found good cheap clothing on clearence at the Junonia website and sometimes Woman Within (though some of their stuff is so badly made, it scares me), are there any other sites? I know Ross is a good option too, but I find Kohl's clothing doesn't fit well on me. I am hovering around 1x or 18-20 for pants and I am sort of almost fully a 3x on top. I know I am completely disporpotioned. SIGH!
I also have to wear suit type clothes for work which makes things challenging when I don't want to buy expensvie stuff right now. Three things I bought a month ago are already too big for me to wear now.
Any ideas would be welcome. I have to say this is a great problem to have!!!
Thanks!

Even though I'm a guy. I think I may be able to give some input. These are the same things I share with the men. Look to good quality thrift stores. If you can't find stuff in Santa Cruz, look in San Jose or Monterey. Another thoughts are your local support group. Also try friends and family. I still am wearing my nephew's pants given to me 3 years ago...(they are dying and will soon need to be retired). Good luck...Brian
Ms Blues,
Like I have told everyone who had surgery after me. Don't buy a wardrode of clothes. Buy just enough to get you through work and the weekend. When I was losing rapidly, I bought one pair of jeans, 3 pants (black, brown and gray) and a few mix & match tops. I did all of my damage at Ross (mostly on the clearance rack). I have seen people buy whole wardrobes and it was primarily a waste (except when the clothes were my size and I came along).

Without struggle, there is no progress.
Hi Kim,
Thanks for your advice about not buying a wardrobe of clothes. I started doing that and realized after two tops became too big after only wearing them both once, I had to tone down my excitement about buying new clothes. I now have the policy of only replacing items that I retire.
I think I've also realized through this is how much I over bought clothing. There really isn't a reason to need 10 pairs of jeans, no matter how stable my weight is. Maybe I'll learn to buy higher end stuff that fits and feels better, but just buy less of it.
Thanks again!

We have a few consignment clothing stores in my area that tend to carry quality clothing that would be great for work. I know that downtown Santa Cruz has some used clothing stores, not sure about their price and quality. Try to go to a WLS group meetup that will have a clothing exchange. I went to one listed on the CA board and met some nice folks and got some nice clothing. What wasn't taken was donated.
