it has been a very long process, to get to this point.  now that it is soon upon, i am getting nerveous. i know this is the best choice for me. i am confident with Dr. K. and his staff. i think i have everything in place with work. my angel, my loving wife for 20 years and my two boys are my strength, they are part of the reason why, the other part is for myself. my boys are very active, and it sucks having your back hurt just to walk from the car to the bleachers.  i am so very happy i have found this site. keep me in your prayers.

Hey BigdaddyT you know you will be in our prayers.  I don't really know about the DS but I have read from people who have had it that they love it.  We are all nervous about our surgeries.  It is kinda scarry.  You have got a great support system in place and you know you can come here for support too!  The 17th is just around the corner!  Good Luck!

Congrats on your surgery date.  Being nervously excited is what I called how I felt before surgery, but truly it was the best thing (besides marrying my husband Ron) that I ever have done for me.  I totally know what you mean about not being able to do things, Ron loves to hike and there were times when we went on vacation that I sat waiting for him to get back from a hike..... not anymore!!

Please keep us posted on your journey and we're all here scooting over on the losers bench making room for our newest loser!

Congrats!! Dr.K is one of the best DS surgeons out there! He's also very kind & caring.
Won against big bad (SoCal) Kaiser for a Duodenal Switch  Haven't heard of DS? Kaiser wants it that way. Come on over & read the truth
Hit goal (Normal BMI) on 2-10-11!    I LOVE my DS!!
My approval process timeline:
02/12/09 - Dr. refused to refer me for WLS
03/03/09 - Vented/whined about it on another board, planned to just wait until next year & switch plans
Let's see what happens!  **updates in blog**
