OT..update on Dougs Sister and a mention about Veterans Day
I just spoke with Dougies sister. She is now home after a week in the hospital with pneounmia and the swine flu. If anyone knows more about what I am about to say, I would love to be more informed on this. His sister, Nancy, stated that she has a fungas like thing in her lungs. She calls then cloud puffs? I have not a clue what this is, but they are still there in her lungs and moving around. The doctors are telling her it is from the swine flu. Anyway on her update, she is home, still hard for her to breath, but she is off of the oxygen, still very weak, but doing better.
She is a child of God and has a strong belief....she thanks you all for your prayers. I will continue to prayer for her healing. I thank you all also for adding her to your prayers.
Hugs...Diane
Now on another Note...to Doug and my dad. Dougie, thank you for your service in the Army for 4 years, even though you had to lose weight to get in the service you did it. and you served our country before and during the Wietnam war. To my dad, THANK YOU, for your bravery in World War II. I can't imagine, but my dad jumped out of planes, and fought bravely in World War II. Talk about PTSS, you cannot even talk to him about his years of service. He will break down and cry. I am sure that he will take his memories, that he will not share, with him to his grave. All wars are ugly. They take the lives of humans, not Americans, not germans, not any specific race, they are humans. It is sad we have to endure this within our life times. If never stops to amaze me, that people cannot just all get along. Today is a day to honor those who have given their live for our freedom. It's a sad day. Also Happy Birthday to my grandma today if she was still alive. She would have been well into her 100's today. She was born in 1890, and lived until 101. A great life for a little Italain woman who came here with 6 kids in tow, and my dad not yet born. Amazing.
If you have someone you want to pay tribute to today, please post, it would be great to hear some stories.

Hi Diane,
I have no clue what the White Puff things are they are talking about but at least she has made it home and is on the mend. Hopefully they will get the fungus thing taken care up and im sure she is on a bunch of meds to do that. The Swine Flu is nothing to mess with...
On another note:
I want to thank Doug, your father and all the other veterans that have served to protect our country. If it were not for them, we would not be living like we are today......
Have a great day......Rick

I am glad to hear your sister-in-law is home. I hope that there are no side effects from her pneumonia and her bout with the swine flu. I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers.
I also thank your father and Doug for their service to our country.
My husband, Howard, served 15 years in the Air Force. He is a Vietnam Vet. My father, is also a Vietnam Vet who earned a purple heart with the Marine Corp. My Father-in-law, served in Korea and was in the Air Force. I have a cousin getting ready for his 3rd tour of duty in Afghanistan, I also have 2 other cousins that served in the Navy and Army. I have 4 uncles that were in the Army, Air Force, Marines, and Navy. My father, my father-in-law, and 2 of my uncles are all buried in National Cemeteries.
I thank them and the many others that gave selflessly to their nation. Freedom is not free, it comes in the form of blood, sweat, and tears of a soldier. I give my thanks and hugs to veterans everywhere, regardless of nationality.

Thank you Elizabeth. It's sad because we take so much for granted. I have so many family members that have given their lives. One of my BFF's hubby was sent to Iraqi and he lost both of his legs due to an IED. He is an amazing man on what he accomplishes with his false legs. He will finish out his army career within the next two years. I could go on forever but it gets pretty boring. We are at the ages now where our parents have served in the wars, and husbands. I just so wish that things would be different. But they aren't. I hope to speak to you soon, so nice to have some time with Doug, but I miss chatting with you too.
Hugs, Diane
