New to the board, looking for a little encouragement
Hi folks,
I'm so glad I found this board! I had my RNY in March of this year and have lost approx. 80 lbs. I know I should be losing more, but I'm struggling with getting enough protein and exercise. Yikes. I live in the Lakewood/Long Beach area and would love to hear from folks who can send some encouragement my way. Do any of you locals get together? I'd love to meet some "success stories" face to face. But at the very least, I'd love to hear some tips and tricks that you've done to help you have a successful weight loss journey. Thanks for your time.

Hi,
Welcome to the CA Boards. You will find a bunch a nice people here and a wealth of information.
It's great that you live in the Long Beach area. The SoCal Coffee Group meets once a month at a Starbucks (Spring and Bellflower ?). Just keep a close eye on the board and you will see a post regarding the coffee; then you can come out and play.

Without struggle, there is no progress.
Welcome to the boards. Yes there is a coffee in LongBeach, and we will be getting together on the 21st this month. Look for a post from Jean L this week it will give you all the details. Best way to get some encouragement, is read some of our profiles, look at our before and after pictures. Only tip I have, is high proteim low carb, remember that, and don't ever compare yourself to anyone else. You lose weight at your own pace, and we are all different..I don't why you think 80 lbs is not alot. You are losing at the rate of 10 lbs a month, pretty dang good if you ask me.
Again welcome, questions, just ask away, and hope to see you at the coffee this month
