Ok, I'm thinking about serving and having a glass of wine when the family gets here for the holiday. What is the best choice for a WLS girl like me?

NONE!  You aren't even a year out from surgery.  Why are you thinking about drinking.  Too many sugars, lay off the stuff at least till over a year.  Yes I know it's just one glass, but your pouch won't like it.  I don't drink much at all, in the 3 years since WLS I have had maybe 6 drinks.  There are lots of people that start with wine, and then it ends up being a cross addiction.  Wine for food.  Don't be rushing things.  Also remember, that one glass of wine with WLS you could possible end up drunk.  Your body does not react to it the same way it did before surgery.  Your entire insides were rerouted, so make sure you can even take one glass without becoming too drunk.  This is my personal opinion, except for the part about how our bodies react to wine

Thanks, Diane.
I wasn't sure if I would even have any but if I did...What would I drink? I really wasn't much of a drinker before my surgery, thats partly why I asked. The other part is I don't know the first thing about serving and choosing a wine.I thought wine would be the most "innocent beverage" to try. I wasn't considering  the sugar. I haven't even thought about eating sugars because the thought of dumping just freaks me out!  I was just asking...  I'll stick to my water.
And...Thanks for the kick in the pants. lol. I love to read you responses because you always tell it like it is. Thats how I roll too. People usually get offended or they love the truthful, candid answers we give 'em, huh?
Thanks for the advice...

Yeah if you don't drink, don't start now.  So easy to start the cross addiction.  I still love my food.  Anyway, I think with turkey you would serve white wine, that is at least what we do with chicken, so I guess this would go the same with turkey, but sure in the heck don't quote me on that.  It's good to know that I am not taken to heart from someone.  I hurt peoples feelings with the honesty sometimes, and it's meant out of love, at least on the boards it is.  Amen to your last sentence, all too true.

Happy Holidays,  Diane
