Support Group Needed! (Inland Empire)

I had my surgery in 2003 and right now I am up 60 lbs. Due in part to 2 pregnancies in two years and in part (the bigger part I am sure) to my bad eating and lifestyle choices.  One of the biggest reasons behind my difficulties staying on track is a lack of support (I believe). I had my surgery in Los Angelos and it was too far for me to go for the groups.

Now I am trying to get back on track and take this weight off.  I really want to find a group that I can attend for support and encouragement.

I live in Beaumont, Ca and am seeking a group in the Inland Empire.  Does anyone know of one where you can attend without having had your surgery by a a certain doctor?  Most ofthe groups I am finding are sponsored by specific surgeons and are for their surgeons only.

Help appreciated!

Hi there and welcome back.  This is a wonderful board and you'll find lots of care, concern, friendship and support here so you've come to the right place for that!!!  My pals in So Cal will welcome you with open arms and will share their support groups with you.  I just wanted to welcome you and also say I love your boxer babies in your avatar. My family used to breed and show boxers and I SO miss having one.  Someday I will have another!

Again welcome we're glad you're here.

Barb,

THanks for the greeting :0)  I appreciate your admiration for my baby girls...but they are actually bullmastiff's, not boxers :0)  It is ok though, people actually do that a lot.

Hi there Cara, I know of a couple support groups in the area. Kaiser in Fontana has one and even if you aren't with Kaiser, they welcome everyone. I go to one in Rancho Cucamonga at Rancho Specialty Hospital and they welcome everyone too. Also, a group of us walks at Fontana Park T, W, F at 6 pm and Rick is the group leader so you could talk to him too. He posts the "Did You Move to Lose" thread everyday. I hope this helps!!!

Good Luck,

Jean.  That would be awesome! Neither Fontana nor Ranch are too far for me.  Could you PM me with the details (date and time)?

Thanks!

Hi Cara, welcome back! Love your furbabies. They are beautiful. I am also an OH Support Leader based in Fontana. Due to the holiday season coming up, my support group won't be starting until after January 1st. You've come to a great place for support, tho. =)

Hi Jean..I've been to the Rancho Specialty group....do you have their schedule?  I really liked the group and the hospital chef who makes a special protein blend each time...if he still does. Would you let me know please?...thanks,
