Alooooha! (my last time getting to say it as a tourist)

I'm glad Becky is recovering, and Tia D....please send my congratualtions to Uncle Doug on a job well done! I hope you both enjoy his retirement. :)

I'm sitting in the Maui airport waiting to board my flight home. I can't believe vacation is already over! I had so many little moments (big ones too) where I'm reminded WHY I had WLS. I can live a full life. I can climb stairs. I can swim. I CAN WEAR A BIKINI! I surfed. I danced. I wasn't camera shy and I'm coming home with a suitcase full of souvenirs and clothing that I bought in regular sizes....so many things that I never thought I would ever do.

As more and more time passes I notice I'm losing the 'fat girl' mind set. No, I am not super-model thin. My thighs are flabby. My upper arms are like mudflaps. I would love to have new boobies. I may never have the perfect body in this life time, but so what? I sat on the beach in Maui and saw lots of imperfect bodies of all sizes....in bikinis and speedos. Lots of people living life, their toes in the sand, taking in the sun, floating in the water...and I'm one of them too. Imperfections and all....

I love all the marathon trash-talking!  I know it may seem harsh, but it really is all in good fun. If you're out there lurking and thinking you'd like to give it a try, just do it! A 5k, a 10k, a half or full marathon is within reach. It really is possible! Whether you walk it or run, the feeling of accomplishment is the same.

Ok, I got to get this show on the road....I hear it's rainy and cold in So Cal, I better put my flip flops away.
