I was approved for training

I was approved for the OH Group Leader training. Yeah!!!! I start my training in January.

I am so excited I can not wait. This is something that I wanted to do since I started this journey. When I have completed the training I am planning on starting the local support group back up here in Amador County. I will be in contact with the Sutter Amador Hospital here in Jackson, that is where they used to have the meetings.  To see what I have to do to get it up and running again. I will keep you all updated as I get more information.

Sue that is wonderful news!  Jackson isn't that much further away than Elk Grove for me...let me know when you start up your meetings...I'm sure I can at least attend some meetings at the beginning to help support you!

Nancy, that would be very kind of you.

I went to the one at K..... in EG and there was way too much cross talk and I did not get anything out of it. I felt like I waisted my time. I hope that when I do start mine, that does not happen to much. I want everyone to feel welcome and to be able to ask questions if they have any and to have topics for each meeting, so if there are people there that are pre-op and have questions they will be able to get some kind of answer.

What I want to do is hand out flyers and also post here where and when my meetings will be. I want to have topics for discussion, have special guest speakers, have hand outs with WLS information, sharing WLS stories - where you have been and where you are now, samples, clothing exchanges, recipie exchanges, etc.

I want this to be what I was looking for.

Congrats to you.  We  have two new ones down here is So Cal.  Katt and Rick have both completed the course of whatever they had to do to get certified.  Sounds like you need one up there.  Again....congrats
