What is the difference between walking and running shoes? This woman has never walked or ran a day in her life but would like to start LOL. I live in Long Beach and would like to know if there is a store near by that is not to expensive. I have wide feet and have kind of flat feet.
I am so sorry the i wont be able to be at the coffee on the 19th. I have to work a Ducks Hockey game that morning. I know it will be a great day for all. Have some coffee for me and hope to see all in January. I wish all of you a very Merry Xmas and a wonderful New Year.

a total of 271 lbs lost!!
thanks Crystal The web site was just what i needed . I read your profile and i hope you go for it this time. I went in on 21st. of oct. to have it but when they opened me up I had a hernia that was hemorrhaging and I had some serious liver problems so they didn't do my surgery. and the dr. said he probably won't ever do it. so i wish you good luck.

If you are ever planning on running, go with a running shoe instead of a walking shoe. It is a MUST to get your foot properly fitted for a shoe. Shoes will NOT be cheap...probably around $80-$100 a pair, but it is worth it. The proper shoes will prevent blisters and injuries!
Not sure what's in your area......try google!

And get your running shoe from a running store! They will evaluate your gait and help you get the right shoe for you.

I am an avid walker. I was todl to buy a running shoe even though I was a walker. Go to an actual running store and let them know you are a walker and need some advice. If the place is any good they will do a full on evaluation and maybe even put you on a machine. I never knew there was an actual art to buying a good pair of shoes. I used to always go for the pretty ones but that just dosen't cut it anymore epecially when you put in long distant miles. When I started to walk I about fell off my rocker when i found out they cost me about $100 a pair but it's TOTALLY worth it. You will want to make sure you get proper socks as well so you don't blister etc.
Good luck. Watch out... running and walking is addictive. I did my first marathon in October and loved every minute of it. Now i am 3 months pregnant and still training and walking everyday.
