Good Morning Calif.......

So how has this New Year Treated you so far? I spent most of the day yesterday doing nothing. My nephew left yesterday, back to active duty so I was busy making him peanut brittle and beef jerky so he could take it back to base with him. He wont be home for 3 months now, so he will be missed big time. Good thing he is a twin, so we wont miss him face. LOL

IF you missed my post about the 5 day pouch test, I will be starting it on monday. What a great way to start the new year, get off them nusty carbs. So be sure to jump on the trian if you want.

My foot that I hurt a few years ago, durning a training ran with APLA has been giving me some big time problems, so I might hit Kaiser today after work and see what they have to say.

So what are you plans for the weekend. Of course since I am up, mines is work UGH!! Oh well, if I look on the bright side, I only 3 / 12 hours shifts to go, before I am off for 2 days.

I wish you all great day. Enjoy your day and your family and friends. Be sure to tell them you love them as often as you can.

Love to all
Lu

Good Morning Lu and Cali Friends,

Hope your foot is feeling better Lu.

Yesterday was really a great day, we de-christmas'd the house and got everything put away and the house looks so clean.  We watched the Rose Parade and lots of football and even played games with Ron's Mom, sister and brother-in-law who are leaving for home (Canada) today.

Today is going to be relaxing with no real plan which works great for me.

I hope everyone has a great day and do something nice for you.

Hugs,
Barb

Good Morning Lu!  I am up because I have 9 puppies who have tummies on an alarm clock  7:30 am their barks go off and I'm up and out of bed to shut them up.  Fed them, took them outside and put them and their mother out in the kennel.  They need a boobie visit!    Cleaned up their indoor area and now I'm settling down in my chair watching an NCIS marathon.

The Rodeo I went to on NYE was excellent.  I won 2 $200 tickets on the radio  Well, the food was good,. my friend enjoyed the open bar and we enjoyed the Bull Riding Championships.  However, there would be NO WAY I would ever pay $200 for those tickets!  Perfect for winning, but not for buying.  I have bettter things to do with $400!

Today I'm headed down to The Boot Barn with Audrey because she wants to shop.  After that more snuggle time with my blankie.

Tonights dinner is left-over pie.  I made a roast in the crock pot with Au Jus for gravy, red potatos and carrots.  So, I will put it all in pie crust layered and gracy on top and bake it.  Left-over pie.

I'm gonna go snuggle in my blankie.

Good Morning Lu and Cali Crew,

My new year so far hasn't been great. The cold I was hoping I wouldn't get, has arrived in full force. My throat is raw, and I have a horrible cough, but it hurts my thoat to cough. Been drinking a lot of hot tea to sooth it, but it isn't working. Just hope it doesn't get worse. Ok enough of me complaining. I was going to meet some friends on NYE, but didn't make it. Maybe next year. I don't have much planned for the rest of the weekend. I am working tomorrow. Uniforms are clean, just need to pull them out of the dryer. I need to run to the grocery store, so I have food to eat for the next few days, then I will just lounge on the couch and hope I feel better. I am too, watching the NICS marathon. I hope you all have a great day and weekend.

Hugs Eileen

Good morning Lu Lu.  Sorry to hear your foot is hurting again.  Please Please Please, take it easy on it.  Go to the doc and then do what they say.  Sometimes you drive me crazy because you won't listen to what the doctor's tell you to do.  So this time listen, or I'll come over and smack you around.

New Year's Eve was good, however, the party at the restaurant we went to wasn't so great.  I was really bummed about that.  The food was good and of course the company was wonderful, but the band while they were good, they didn't know how to get the crowd in the party mood and they were just too darn loud.  They played jazz and R & B and when they played you couldn't talk because of the sound level. The restaurant would have done much better had they gotten a DJ.  One who would get the crowd going and play games and such.  By 10PM, the six of us pretty much had had enough and we went back to one of the houses and spent the rest of the evening being able to hear each other and playing Wii.  That was actually alot of fun.  We watched the ball drop and then about 1/2 hour later said our goodbyes and headed home.  Next year I think a better and more cost effective idea is to just go out to dinner and then go back to someone's house.

Yesterday we went to the movies.  Saw Sherlock Holmes.  I'm still not sure if I liked it or not.  The first half of it, I found hard to follow.  Then the last hour I thought was ok.  Robert Downey, was, of course fabulous and you know there will be a sequel.  They all but told you that with the last line of the movie.  Robert Downey's Sherlock Holmes is certainly not the SH that Sir Conan Doyle had in mind I think.

Not sure what is going to happen today.  Mike went for a bike ride and I am actually thinking of taking myself to see one of the movies that he doesn't want to see.  Need to do some grocery shopping as well. Maybe I'll even break down and make something for dinner.  Now wouldn't that be a novel thing.  Or maybe I'll just buy some premade dinners from Fresh and Easy and be the microwave queen I am.

Oh well, guess I should start by taking a shower and putting on some clothes.  Then I can decide.  Don't work too hard today Lu.  Take care of that foot.  Everyone else enjoy your day.

HI All,

So far my New Year's has been the perfect mix of activity and relaxing. After I type this, I am heading to the gym to swim laps and chill out in the steam room and jacuzzi.  I am hoping my hubby will fix dinner while I am gone, but I won't hold my breath on that.

I am trying hard not to anticipate getting back to real life on Monday. I've been out of work since December 22 and the break has been awesome.  Having your time back from the forces of the world is incredible. Well at least I know if I win the lottery, I'll enjoy having a life of leisure.

I hope we all have an easy transition back to real life on Monday. May 2010 be a great year for all of us.
