Hi all,

We are looking into relocating to the San Jose area.  No timeframe as of yet.  My hubby is thinking about coming out there and look for work.  His kids flew us out for Christmas and are wanting him back. Anyway, I run a support group up here in PA and was wondering what support groups are running in the San Jose area.  I would like to keep my OH Support Leader status but I don't want to take away members from another group.  Anyway, we are a long time from the relocation me thinks so I am just gathering info.

Hi Paula,

I'm from San Jose and can tell you that the area is soooo large that even if there is another active group, there is likely to be more than enough room for your skills and talents in the area.

My kids and family live there as well and if Ben doesn't get another job here, moving back there is a possibility for us as well... Maybe we'll end up being neighbors again.

Wishing you all the best,

Barbara

Just an aside...You need to look at the cost of housing here.  It's some of the highest in the country.  Don't look just at the pay scale...that can be misleading.  Also prices for almost everything are higher here.  Brian

Hi Brian,

Yea, we lived seven years in San Francisco and five years in the D.C. area.  Boith are very much inflated.  If he did this, he would stay with his kids until he found work and I would join later.

I am a transplant from NY to San Jose~There are a couple of groups but there can always be more.  There are so many different styles of teaching and each leader brings something else to the table.

Good luck in your endeavors!  I hope that your husband's efforts pay off!!
