just moved to Cali from Florida

Hello, all.. Florida gal just moved here to Manhattan Beach...

Anyone know of any supports groups here locally ? Would love to hook up with one.

Welcome to the Cali Boards! I am sure there will be many people chiming in about some of the local support groups available to you. But I just wanted to let you know of a coffee group that is held in Long Beach, the last Saturday of the month. They meet at Starbucks and chat, get to know each other, and have a clothing exchange. There is a post a little further down about the Long Beach coffee, Jean L. usually posts about it. Its an awesome group of people. The next gathering in this Saturday, the 30th at 10:00 am. They meet at Starbucks. Its a great way to meet some of the great people on this board from So Cal! Hope that helps. Looking forward to hearing more from you!

Torrance Memorial Medical Center has three different groups which meet the first three Monday evening of the month.  These are fairly large groups.

There is another one in Hillside Village (Torrance) which usually meets the first Saturday of the month from 3:00 - 4:30 in the afternoon.  This is a very small group.

Surgilite in Torrance also has a support group, although I don't know the schedule.  I think it's a fairly small group, I have been Dr. H. in this office a couple times.

These are the South Bay groups with which I am familiar, there may be others.

There are some other groups on the westside, Long Beach and Orange County.

Depending upon where you work, there probably are several other cities with support groups that might be convenient.

Manhattan Beach is a cute area. I've been there for short amounts of time. I hope you enjoy it out in Cali.

I live in NorCal, but want to welcome you to the board.  I've had great support here and anytime I have a question I throw it out there and get helpful responses.

If you ever come up towards the Santa Cruz/Monterey or Bay Area, just let me know and I can provide tips on where to go. One of my husband's dream vacation is to go to Orlando for a Disney World vacation. I may ask you for some travel tips. I am not so keen on an Orlando vacation, but the hubby wants one.
