No reason to think twice about having it done.  IF it's a necessity, then one will do it.  For someone to think that there is not going to be pain with any surgery is kidding themselves.  It's bad today, but each day should get better.  I look forward to a little more pain to be looking alot better.

Good luck

Let's see, you've had skin cut, muscles cut and possibly tightened. Why in the you think there would be NO pain?? That what the docs give you pain meds for. I know there will be pain when I finally have my reconstructive surgery done. Will that keep me from having the surgery? Absolutely not! It's medically neccessary. My hysterctomy was painful, but I still had it. I amgetting ready to have surgery on my mouth, where they will be moving my upper jaw into the proper position. I am told is more painful that all the surgeries I've had, combined. Am I still having it? Absolutely! And I won't be able to speak for 2-3 weeks and will only be able to have protein drinks in that time frame. Am I still willing to put myself through all that?? A resounding YES. Besides, the 2-3 weeks of protein shakes only may just end the stall I've been on...lol

I know it's painful, but think of the results after the pain has gone and the swelling has faded. Then tell me it wasn't worth it. Feel better, and don't suffer throught the pain. Don't wait until the pain is unbearable before taking the pain meds. x0x0x0

Thanks but it's been 8 and 1/2 years since the surgery and the pain has been every day. go ahead and have it.  Maybe my docs were just having a bad day when they messed me up.  You can't get pain meds for chronic pain unless you are diagnosed with psychiatric problems.

8 and a half years?! Get a malpractice attorney. Your result are not typical.

I had full circumferential body lift last August. The recovery was somewhat uncomfortable more than painful. I'm fine today. The results are great and I was lucky to have a great surgeon.

Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

Amen Monica.  Also I don't have problems getting pain meds, it's for control of my pain from major back surgery.  Pain is pain, and it needs to be control so you can enjoy life.

You better update your profile, it says you had most of this done last year in IOWA. Yes, there is such a thing as pain management and you can get pain meds long term.

Not sure what the purpose of your post is. But ya better straighten out the profile dates if we are to believe this was long time ago.

Sssshheeesh!  I can't find the place in my profile that allows for the date of surgery.  I did become a member of obesityhelp in August of 2008 but my surgery was June 2001.

Leech, my DH is a nurse and said that can happen. I guess your physician did not warn you of that. I am sorry that this has happened to you.
